Well, it's a New Year which means the end of year ratings for WCK-stinkhole.


Numbers of the year
• • 2.5 percent: Arbitron audience share for WCKG mornings at the start of 2006.

• • 0.3 percent: Arbitron audience share for WCKG mornings at the end of 2006.

With that said, how the hell does Steve Dull continue to keep his job and continue to demand his salary?!?
His advertisers are cut rate speaker shops and casinos!
 
This is sad. I know Steve is a talent who I think has just been caught in a generation gap!

Steve is a legend even in his own mind . I enjoy his diverse taste!

Because, you IDIOT, Steve is in PM DRIVE, not mornings! And he is the only one on that station who gets any numbers. WithOUT Steve Dahl, WCKG would be completely dead. As it is now they certainly can't get arrested in mornings. Let's recount who has been in there and crashed: Stern (took several years to catch on), Rover (please give me a huge chunk of slackburger...how did this guy GET the gig in the first place?), and now the famed (and defamed) Opie and Anthony. Bland, boring stuff to be sure.

Here's a freakin' tip: Grab Mancow and put him in mornings, play REAL rock music all day, then follow with
Steve Dahl. Repeat 5-7 days a week.
 
First off munch, Steve Dahl has pulled lower numbers than any "Afterrnoon" drive in Chicago for the past 4 years! I have the numbers. He is the worst talent ever! WCKG is making money because they lease airtime on the weekend to cover their ass on the numbers during the week

I worked for ckg and us99 3 years ago. CKG is hurting so bad that they are demanding pay cuts.
Radio as wee know it suck.

Can't help but agree with this logic. Remember the old days when the LOOP had Johnny in the morning followed by Stroud, Skafish, and Patti Haze, all great jocks in my book and they all played great tunes all day and night. If I recall, that was a winning formula for a heck of a long time.
 
??? I think it's a combination of crappy talent out there and way to many other things to listen too...Hey even Stever would admit he's still here "pullin' his pud" after all these years. I can't think of ANY Chicago radio personality that has lasted nearly 30 years and still commands a huge salary, still featured in newspaper columns, does tv segments, etc. AND has survied 30 years of station ownership changes, format changes, personnel changes even his own personnal demons with 30 years of changing listners habits!

I can't even think of anyone else in the market still around 30 years and if Steve has only 10 listners or 1 million he's still ON THE AIR!!!!! :D
 
I agree with the other poster hire mancow and turn into music the rest of the day.. active rock would be a good fit since there is none here anymore. wckg as we know it has to go.. they suck. they would problebly get better ratings if they played polka
