How Is KSSJ doing?

I am curious, How is Smooth Jazz 94.7 KSSJ doing? With all these recent changes in major markets losing their Smooth Jazz Stations such as KKSF San Francisco. Any fear if Entercom will drop the Smooth Jazz format or are they doing fine?

From what I hear they bill quite well, and they've already eliminated almost every full-time position (I think Linda Clayton and the PD are the only ones that are still full-time), so they should be making a boatload of money. If Entercom flips any station in that building it'll be KWOD, and I don't see them doing that anytime soon.

Yep... shows what I know! Also should mean KSSJ is safe for awhile. Then again...... 8)

The Only reason KSSJ, KTWV, KSBR and KJZY are doing well because ex-KKSF listeners are going to these stations online
and in the Case of KSSJ people in Solano county from Fairfield can get KSSJ on FM while Vallejo residents who live north of Old Wal-Mart can get KJZY on the FM dial.

That makes no sense. No Sacramento "Metro" diaries are placed in Solano County. Any additional listeners from outside of the Sacramento Metro do NOT affect the ratings in Sacramento.

The same can be said for KJZY. No listeners outside of Sonoma County to KJZY will be included in KJZY's numbers.

KSSJ has done well for over a decade and has consistantly out performed KKSF in their respective metros.

KSSJ did good in the last ratings, I don't see them flipping anytime soon

Wait until the PPM comes out.
Kind of bumping this topic on up, with the recent change of events at KSSJ. Michael was absolutely right in his prediction. Way to go Michael!! :)

It wasn't hard to figure this one out considering the results in other PPM markets. The funny thing is I was miffed last year when they blew up KWOD knowing the PPM was coming to the market and yet they kept KSSJ going. KSSJ must have been billing better than KWOD at the time.

The KWOD name had baggage though. Now they can start fresh.

Meanwhile KTWV (with a few modifications) is still hanging on as is KIFM in San Diego.
