How is the best way to secure the antenna pole?

When this last cold front came through I thought for sure my antenna would turn, but it didnt, but it did move around a lot! I know about guide wires, but I realy dont have any place to guide the wire to where my pole is. Its a strong pole, but when that wind blows, where both my TV // FM antenna is it realy moves a lot. Is there a way I can secure it better? I think the pole is around 27-28' up in the air.

The way I mount my FM antenna is on a long length of water pipe.

Drive a metal fence star post into the ground & secure the mast to that using those U bolts used generally for TV/FM antenna installations. That will also stop it turning in the wind. When I wish to rotate the antenna, I simply loosen off the U bolts, turn the antenna, then re-tighten.

If you don't wish to use a star post, then secure the mast to the nearest fence!
Simple type of setup, especially when I don't own the house I'm in. only renting.

This setup is also easily pulled down when needed - like for repairs or maintenance.

Radio Snack sells a four segment collapsable galvanized pole. I dug a two foot hole, set the pole, and put concrete around it. I secured the top of the first (biggest) segment to the eaves of the roof. I extended three of the four segments, which gave me the height I needed. If it blew around, I just brought it down a segment. If I had special listening or viewing to do, I'd put it all the way up. I used a rotater to aim the antenna. Got great results.
It's just lying in the yard now, cause of my new location and the trees over the house. Plus, I was always afraid of lightning.

Exactly the way i have mine, secured to the corner fence post by metal straps, two guy wires secured to the fence itself and another secured into the ground, I used to just rotate the whole mast to turn the antenna but the bottom of it got messed up and actually got stuck in the ground, so I went and bought a rotator. this setup went through the remnants of katrina and rita without even budging and it's about 25 or so ft up<P ID="signature">______________
