I haven't been to the Triangle since WQOK downsized, but simple physics would suggest their signal is no better than before in south Raleigh. I know when I visit relatives in south Cary their old signal has always been fine ( and competitive) on my relative's $9.95 clock radios with no adjustments necessary to the crapy antennas. Given that WQOK has always been one of the most powerful signals in Southside Virginia (long before they moved into the Triangle) and their longtime format is found no where in SS VA, it is obvious R-O and the FCC did that region a huge injustice in allowing the downgrade. Some areas of South side VA are seriously underserved by radio and there is no relief in sight. Meanwhile, the FCC allows R-O to downsize for no apparent reason, other than to save money. This, even though it is obvious R-O made cartloads of money off WQOK, which was always near or at the the top of the ratings using their old transmitter. Really, this is an outrage and the FCC deserves a good a-- kickin'.
