How listenable is CKWW in Detroit, and how many listeners does it have?

You could get WKZO 590, WJR 760, WHFB 1060, and WMMI 830 from that general direction from across the lake as I recall
I'm in Kenosha, about 2 miles from Lake Michigan. I actually get quite a lot from Michigan. In addition to those that you mentioned, I can get WMJH 810, WKAR 870, WGTO 910, WFAT 930 (usually under WKBM), WKBZ 1090, WVHF 1140, WPNW 1260, WOOD 1300 (now that La Grange is silent), WILS 1320, WHTC 1450 (sometimes), and the X-Banders from Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids pop in occasionally. WSGW's signal surprises me; WBBM is easy to null here.

I remember listening to CKWW AM 580 a lot while driving in Cleveland, Ohio some years ago. The signal was pretty good until, one day, it wasn't. The last time I checked, I could barely hear it when driving by Lake Erie on I-90. It broadcast great CKLW based music. I remember hearing "Just As Bad As You" by Shawne Jackson (a song I thought was a complete 'bomb' that I love) and hearing, for the first time, "Mr. Monday" by The Original Caste (who did the first version of "One Tin Soldier" released in 1969). Both Shawne Jackson and The Original Caste were Canadian acts.

CKWW shouldn't be that strong near Cleveland with licensed DA facilities, but it might exceed the Radio Locator predicted FI because Lake Erie has a higher measured conductivity than M-3 according to more recent measurements. Either way, if they were operating with 125 watts nondirectional STA, it would be quite a bit stronger there than with 500 watts DA.
