How Long Is A Song "New" on Atlanta Radio?

Back in Boston...we had a rule. Never call anything "new" is it were older than 2 months.

Here in Atlanta, it seems like things can be new for however long someone wants it to be. (Yes, 97.1 The River, I'm talking to you here.)

For example...and this is no crack on Star...but I just heard them refer to Hunter Hayes' "Wanted" as a new song when it was released in very early May.

The question is: How long should a song be called "new"? Or does it depend on the format, whether something is considered "current" or "re-current"?
