how long is too long?

So the regular guys had a bit this morning, the regular guys squares, that lasted an hour. At what point is a bit too long? That assault on the listener has gotten so long it last an entire commute.

It is difficult to listen to the show. Norma Lee, danger women and the marathon squares have got to be audience killers. It's like sticking needles in my ears. What is happening? Is seems with every bit, I am just looking forward to it ending and hoping what comes up next is listenable.

They need a major change. Everything they have done in the last year has made the show worse.

I listened also and it is was nowhere near an hour 25 minutes at the most between two sets. I know be cue I listened in the car this morning and commute was 45 minutes and when I first got in the car they were doing the FU line and the newsjog.

not to be argumentative but in the podcast feed it was broken into two parts that totaled around 45 minutes not counting commercials. It was a very long bit. Especially for those of us that do not like michael mcdonald or any michael mcdonald impressions.

and I changed my radio to q100 this morning to get away from it. It was even worse. Maybe I'll just change to the beeping noise when my alarm goes off...

When the Regular Guys were at their best they had a boss with a firm hand... Gene Romano. They respected him and listened to his suggestions. There were meetings after every show. When Gene left so did any direction and we all know what happened. I'm curious to know if the Regular Guys have someone they respect helping with the direction of the show? I'm guessing they dont...

I'd say anything over 5 minutes is too long. People have short attention spans, and lives to get on with. And it's just radio.

I crack up every time the M.M. impersonator is called on. That voice coming in over the opening lines of "What a fool believes" gets me every time.

Why do you continue listening to a show that you don’t enjoy?

DashRiprock - What a GREAT band. I'm surprised that someone else here knows of them. Are they still around?

Yes they are, just not around here. The closest they get to us is Augusta on May 7, and they never get airplay on Atlanta radio except for maybe 88.5.

I guess its too much to ask to get southern rock on the radio in here in the south.

They play southern rock on that country station out of Dahlonega (WZTR, 104.3)

Gosh, it wasn't that long ago when we were begging 96 Rock to lay off the southern rock...

Be careful what you ask for.

I used to play them on the radio up here in Ohio...interviewed them and hung out with them once, too. Great guys. I'm glad to hear that they're still at it.

My neighborhood is a DMZ....NANANANANANANANANANA............

It just seems like there should be room in Atlanta for a playlist that includes bands like The Allman Brothers, Derek Trucks, and North Mississippi Allstars.

It would also be great to have some local music and allow DJ’s to pick what they play, but that’s just crazy talk. Everyone knows that listeners want 'quality rock'.
