Seriously WWHK/The Hawk is gone forever, 102.3 has reverted to Vox Media pursuant to an FCC order for Nassau to cease operating it under an LMA as reported in several other topic headings. My information is that Vox has 6 months to find a buyer or they could elect to operate 102.3 on the air themselves. After 6 months of silence the FCC could recapture the format.

And the FCC doesn't "recapture" formats. They will, however, cancel licenses after 12 months of silence; that's easy to avoid.
My bad I meant to say "recapture the frequency", good thing I didn't become a lawyer.

My contacts at Vox tell me they may leave it silent until near the end of the 12 month period due to the economy. That sounds plausible with the way things are now. Hunker down and wait for Spring and the tourists.

NHRadio said:No, but the Lakes Region (and NHIS) are. Many people stay in Concord especially for track events.
