How long 'til a station is no longer "NEW?"

Well, it appears WSJW is outliving some of the folks' predictions on here that it would be a short-lived flop. It is approaching 2 years on-the-air and 'seems' to be doing quite well. Ratings aren't blowing me away, but they're decent, and better than Big. Also, the station must be making money with all of the promotions they're doing ... cruises in the spring ... Valentines parties ... and lots of local advertisements (though I'm sure a lot of those are package deals with The Rose).

You all know I'm one of 'SJW's biggest supporters, but one thing that is starting to irk me, is their constant reference to "The NEW Smooth Jazz 92.7." How long is a station "new?" I would think 6 months or a year tops. It starts to sound silly after 2 years. It's the same exact jingles and imaging as sign-on two years ago.

If 'SJW plans to stick around for awhile longer (which I predict they will), it's time for some new sweepers. Geez! ;-)

I gues I am the only one that saw there spot on WGAL TV 8's newscast. They have a real nice add on that makes them seem like a big city jazz station, good job Hall Cummunications for supporting a great jazz station. Just my two cents.

Also approaching, 10 years since "Solid Rock 92.7 Starview"
(WHTF-FM, York).

Word Up.

A year should be new enough. BTW, the NEW is also mentioned
in WSJW's television ad.

Their current voice guy sounds a lot like the person who
originally did the package for "The Eagle."

It'd be cool to hear Nick Summers/Sommers do the new package;
he was the voice for Solid Rock 92.7.

Locally, he can be heard in a car financing company's TV spot.
