how long till WMRN moves ?

Looks like there is a new 4 bay antenna about half way up on the WOSU tower up in Westerville, looks like the new 106.7 may be under construction already

There's no construction permit for it yet (still listed as an application on the FCC website), so they should not be building it out yet.

Well if that is really the case (I don't get up to that part of town like I used to so I can't go look for myself), then obviously Clear Channel knows something that we don't yet when it comes to the move. They won't spend all that money putting it up without knowing for sure they will be able to do the move, after all they are cheap channel! I would think tho WOSU/Ohio State wouldn't let them do the work to their tower without a construction permit, so it wouldn't jepordise their own license (since they are the owners).

It's hard to say what is going on because the FCC data on their website are often outdated. For instance, it lists WLZT as construction permit status for Ashville even though it's been transmitting there for a couple of years. WMRN could be in the construction stage and the only people who would know are Clear Channel bean counters and the engineering firm installing the antenna.

Hard to say whose antenna that might be but I doubt that it is for WMRN yet. The Dublin application is still pending and CC will not be installing any antenna until that CP is granted.

Once a CP is granted, it runs for three years. In most cases stations have automatic operating authority under the C.P., that is they can turn it on once it is built. A station may be up and running for a number of months with new facilities before the actual license is issued.

Whether technically allowed under the rules or not... it is the Marion move-in.

If they don't have a CP, I would be suprised if CC is doing anything, especially with all of the folks watching... but if they are, they should read the rules. It would really suprise me to see Greg do anything even questionable.
------
CONSTRUCT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PERMIT

The Commission expects that construction will be completed in strict accordance with the terms and conditions of the construction permit. Where circumstances necessitate deviations from the construction permit parameters, these changes must first be approved via the grant of a modification construction permit application on FCC Form 301 for commercial AM and FM stations or FCC Form 340 for noncommercial educational AM and FM stations (see the next section). Please note that the Commission's rules and policies do not authorize deviant construction before grant of a modification application, and any such construction may subject the licensee or permittee to sanctions which may include (but are not limited to) monetary forfeitures. Furthermore, it is staff policy to deny requests for special temporary authority to operate a station not built in compliance with the terms and conditions of the construction permit.

FCC database on the web IS NOT always up-to-date

Trick_Magnet is correct. The FCC website doesn't have up-to-date information. Believe it or not, this is correct. The only way you will find out if the CP has been granted is to sift through the daily digest (whatever it's called) of filings, grantings, dismissals, etc that the FCC releases, which is published in the M Street Journal (now a subsidiary of Clear Channel) or by looking at an accurate website, like 100000watts.com (also a CC property). That said, if there is a new 4 bay antenna bolted on WOSU-TV's tower, then you can bet that CC probably has a CP for WMRN 106.7 in Dublin.

I have been looking at the Daily Digests from the FCC daily for the past several months, and have not seen a CP granted for the WMRN-FM move. I have seen the app go in for WHIZ-FM to move tho. If a CP has been granted, when you search for WMRN in the "FM station Query" it still says it's an in application mode, and when you click on application list, its still listed there as an application, not being granted

http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/fmq?stat...&slat2=&NS=N&dlon2=&mlon2=&slon2=&EW=W&size=9

http://svartifoss2.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/pubacc/prod/app_list.pl?Facility_id=40170

And a search under "Dublin, Ohio" shows its in application stage too...
http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/fmq?stat...&slat2=&NS=N&dlon2=&mlon2=&slon2=&EW=W&size=9

Recnet.com shows it's in application mode too. I'm just not seeing a CP for this yet.

Re: FCC database on the web IS NOT always up-to-date

but it seems funny that this has still not shown up... It should have, if the antenna is up

Re: FCC database on the web IS NOT always up-to-date

For the record, recnet.com pulls the FCC raw data that they compile early Saturday which reflects end of business on Friday.

So therefore, we get it once per week.
