That current hit by Rapper Ludacris got me to thinking. What is the lowest nighttime power out there for those stations that have to lower power at night? The lowest I've found is WGRP with 2 watts (according to the radio locator sight). On that one, why bother unless your tower is nice and high, maybe. Who do they have to protect?
When did the FCC change things so that so many more stations could stay on-air at night via severely reduced power. I know of a 500 watt AM station that in the 1970s was a daytimer. Now they have 57 watts at night.
