And what pray tell could you possibly mean by "the best"? Are you as truly insane as most of your posts indicate?

> WNAK has a program on Sunday mornings at 630AM
with the local Salvation Army. Very low key, not
Bible thumping but some small lesson interspersed
with Sallie music that at least makes a Teddy Kennedy
Catholic like me pause and think.
Years ago, WILK had a lady on who was a real trip, she
was known as the "Messianic Jewess from East St. Louis".
She rivaled anything Dana Carvey's Church Lady ever did on SNL.
WICK still has the Orthadox Churches from Olyphant
on I believe.
When I was a mere lad working at WPTS (like everyone
in this market) I remember the Sacred Heart program on
disc. 15 minutes.
And on WARM, at midnight, there was the message from
the Christophers. Peace be with you all on this Super
Bowl Sunday!!!!

I know it's not local, but is "Powerline" still in production? Good music, good message, and in a format tolerable to a wide audience.

Please define "best."

Keep in mind, these programs are infomercials. Churches pay premium rate for time that no one else will buy. (Plus stations eliminate programming costs, except for minimum waqe to a bored op.) These programs exist mainly to feed some preacher's already swollen ego. Church-goers don't listen; they get the real thing. Non-church-goes don't listen; they aren't buying what the preachers are selling.

If you're a local sales manager, best is whichever church pays the most, pays in advance, gets their tape in on time, keeps re-newing their contract and never calls and bothers you.

I posted this last night...I have no idea why it didn't come through...

WEMR/WCOZ (Cozy 103.9/Cozy 1460/Cozy 104.3) does church on Sunday Mornings....we have a Catholic Mass on the air as well as Powerline....and a couple of other things...we're probably going to be doing another service too...as far as the community goes, I think far more people are glad that we are doing this than actually listen to it....we've always gotten good reviews for doing this old-fashioned part of radio...

My pick

I don't know if this qualifies, but every time my wife hear's Eric "the prospector" Logan crack a mic she yells...Oh my gawd!?!

Spoken like a true idiot! There are indeed a few radio people out there to make a buck with a church service, but there are far more who listen because they can't get to church but would like to. I was part of a station that cancelled it's church services on sunday morning because of the (BLEEP) Channel type of dumbed down mentality, and boy did they "Catch Hell" from merchants, listeners and others. The station's owner/manager/pd and other looked like complete (BLEEP). While your over-generalization has some truth in a small way, you obviously don't know what exactly is on the air, so don't comment!
