How many here listened to Howard?

How many people listened to Howard this morning? I certainly did, and it was...different than what i thought, but still captivating radio. Unfortunately, the dump button was used far too much and became too much of a distraction. You could really tell that Howard was alive, and he had so much fire in his voice. A very nice farewell to broadcast radio, without being tacky or tasteless. Also, artie lange is quite possibly the funniest guy on the planet. a big thumbs up goes out to adam 12 for playing taps, and taking phone calls throughout the morning. thoughts?

I listened to the last 30 minutes or so. I was kind of disappointed, I thought that Stern would end up doing something outrageous, though all I heard were essentially thank yous and such. And yes, the dump button was used way too much. Robin and Howard would build up to saying something for 10 seconds, and then so much was dumped that you couldn't predict what was dumped.

I didn't realize that Taps was at the local level; I'd figured it was national. A nice touch by 'BCN.

If that's true, we're in big trouble. I caught a show he did at Hampton Beach Casino a couple years ago (I'd never heard of him...he opened for Robert Schimmel)...his act was nothing but obscenities & some lame attempts at humor. I thought he sucked.

You cant blame bcn for the dump button being hit so often, anytime you include listeners you're going to have issues. The live event was such that I did my last official show on "92.3 Krock" last night, I hung out for a while and waited for the weather to settle down and ended up leaving the station at 2:45 am and there were about 300 plus people outside, in the winter rain and hale and sleet, THEN. It was the die hards and they were very audible during the speeches and if you have people yelling out curses what can they do but bleep them?. As for your dissapointment that Howard didn't do something "outrageous" that's pretty silly, he kept saying it was a thank you rally so that's exactly what he did, you're not on top like that for 20 plus years without having many to thank in the end. You want the outrageous Howard plunk down 12 bucks annd get Sirius.....What would you have expected him to do with a crowd of thousands of people watching? if anything goes wrong then the whole world is pointing the finger at him. Just know the pictures on the websites didnt do it justice there were TONS of people and I mean they were rows deep in that street..., on a Friday in the middle of rush hour in the middle of mid Town Manhattan..............That's outrageous enough that he was able to just get the permits and pull it off in the first place!. I mean let's be realistic for a sec.

That was Taps for all the falling Infinity stations which, without Stern, are done.

Nik, you're forgetting that the S.P.E.R.M. on this board are not realistic.
