Are there any statistics out there on how many of the homes in each market have HD sets in them?
In my home two out of the four sets are HD. I do not have cable or satellite, I use an antenna. I find myself watching the second & third sub-channels of the stations that have them.
It seems to me that when there are enough folks with HD televisions, that the stations will be able to run a crawl on the bottom of their main broadcast channel when there is "breaking" weather or news and show those on one their sub-channels.
I realize there has to be enough folks able to see those sub-channels for that idea to be practical and profitable. Anybody tracking those numbers in the market yet?
