How many news/talk stations...

They canceled Captain Kangaroo for a morning show train wreck nobody has ever wanted or watched (again corporate ego).

I think you're stretching a bit here.

In any case, welcome back Fred...we missed you

My compliments for your excellent coverage of progressive talk radio during the past year. To anyone who has not checked out the Liberal Talk Radio website, I recommend it highly. For your blog, not only is the glass full. It has a head on it.

You're right about this observation

Happy New Year!

Thanks, Baroosk. I'm also happy to see you've reactivated your blog, as well, and are posting articles again.

Does this mean you didn't like Captain?
Bunny Rabbit getting the carrots? Mr. Moose and the ping pong balls? Besides, it was and is the only successful morning show CBS has ever had. However, I was a fan of the CBS Morning News during the Hughes Rudd era.

Back to radio: CBS Radio Newsfeeds are a major pain in the ass; so is their news software. They are still operating in the dark ages of technology. Apparently they think every affiliate is WCBS, Newsradio 88 with a bunch of union engineers who do nothing all day but record the network and dub cuts onto carts. Beyond that the Newsfeeds look like they sliced and diced every bit of audio that comes in for the TOH news broadcasts and then toss it onto Newsfeeds, no matter how useless. Most of their wraps are clearly a tailored for a specific broadcast and interaction with the newsreader, and often don't stand up well alone. They are completely unconcerned with what affiliates need. Not to mention, when you call "network news" they are often rude and arrogant (sort of like calling tech support).
