How many news/traffic helicopters in DFW?

I won't confirm or deny any "trade secrets," but I'll tell you that Val DeOrr fills in for Michael Scott's vacations, as I do for Laura when she's out. Val also fills in on our other stations as needed. Randy's out this week, so I'll do Collin and Denton in the AM's. Hal's out and Mark Davis is out as well this week, so it should be interesting.

Choppers are about 7x the cost of a plane rental, so that should explain the abundance of Cessnas in the air. Monty's plane has been painted to match the chopper, so if you see zebra stripes on any air unit, it's Traffic.com.

B, it's "Houston" and not "Huston"...just like there's a "Laura Dallas" that does traffic over Houston. HAHAHA. ;D

Thanks for the correction Mikey! :D

I always forget to throw the O in there, and of
course we all know just how important the "O"
is to women and men! ;D

The reason I'm asking is that the chic who's been subbing on Krld lately... sounds a lot like Julie

That's gotta' be it then. Boy, she DOES sound a lot like Julie....scary...

But what happened to Michael Scott? Is he still flying?

Michael is still very much around on KSCS flying in the "Cowcopter"
(I mean the 96.3, KSCS Jetcopter).... ;D

God, I need to get a life.

Same here. I'm on this board WAY too much, and I'm not even in the
'biz anymore... :) It's just fun to check in with old friends and yes, even some
enemies, and being able to speak my piece, in an open internet forum,
without someone getting their panties in a wad, or having an ego eruption...;)

Hmmm. Did you actually hear her name, or just a voice that sounded like hers? The reason I'm asking is that the chic who's been subbing on Krld lately... (I'm guessing that's maybe her husband who made a post on one of these threads) sounds a lot like Julie (Alesia.)

But I've been my own rock....I guess. Maybe they put her up there when they were in a pinch, since she's got some flying under her belt.

I tried to find her bio on k104's website. They used to have a little picture of her way back when, but now it looks like they've only got pics of the air talents.

.

The "chick" who's been filling in at KRLD is my wife. Her name is Marina Brett and she worked for Metro some 15 years ago (as Marina Hall). She was at K-104 further back as Marina Coker-Hall. For the past 15 years or so she's been off the air, raising the kids and is now getting "back in"....Yes, she has some flying under her belt.

Great empires have been built from ashes.... ;) :D

And then there is this Vesuvius thing back in the day. Too bad CBS isn't familiar with Greco-Roman history :D

What, "Into every life, a little empire must fall"?

Groovy. How does she like it?

She loves it. She worked for Metro more than 15 years ago and then took time off to raise the kids.....love's being back in the saddle (or Cessna or chopper or....whatever applies)
