How many part 15'ers are interested in running "free" internet programming?

No one responded to my post about the free disco show, live from NJ which is soon going to happen.
I've looked into other free internet programming, and so far have not found anything I'd run on my station.

Has anyone found something worthwhile to air? And I'm wondering why no one is interested in running a live, disco program on Saturday night?

Trust me, it is an excellent show!

Can anyone point out some music or talk shows which originate on internet (free!) that can be rebroadcast live?

Carl..

I've talked to these folks and there are no issues with using their content. They have a clock with station breaks where you can add your own content. (station I.D., news flashes, sweeps.. whatever)

Call Victor and he'll fill you in on their requirements.. (503)638-4839

I've broadcast this content myself in my area. Not bad for free.. ;)

OOPS!!.. Might be nice if I give you a link.. http://www.talkstarradio.com/

"Disco sucks, it's not gonna last for long. It's big right now but it's gonna fade away." Excerpt from the song "Disco Sucks" from Chuck Wagon and the Wheels.

Visit www.lpam.net for a plethora of programs and features available to Part 15 stations. Click on the Part 15 AM link and follow the sub links.

On the KU Band satellite, You have a Choice of Talk Star & the old time radio network YesterdayUSA, and then there are the many near part 15 broadcasters I have found that are running XM Radio programming on their transmitters. I aalso found a cool jamming oldies station on the KU band from Little Rock, Ark. I knew an Oldies station I was running from Little Rock a couple years back was being herd on my station when calls for request from my area started to come in to the station. There is nothing like a radio station that ID's "broadcasting from a van down by the river this 101.1 FM Little Rock". or "broadcasting from the basement from the Clinton library" to give it that underground sound.
Being off the grid a satelle reciever has a very low current draw 22 watts, compared to a computer.

Re: How many part 15'ers are interested in running "free" internet programming?

Maybe I wasn't clear on this at all: I'm asking for radio shows (even if sponsored) off the internet, not ku or C band.

Selections not necessarily music oriented, political talk, religeon are all ok.

My friend Al Cocchi is distributing a free disco show to part 15's gratis and you can get it by writing Al at [email protected]. It's an excellent program.

I would think a discussion of this type would be to the benefit of part 15 broadcasters.
Lets share.

Re: How many part 15'ers are interested in running "free" internet programming?

We've been producing original talk shows on the internet for seven years.
Programs about UFOs, astronomy, earth sciences, mindless chat, humor(?) and other odd stuff.

If anyone would like to broadcast them over the airwaves, feel free.

All we ask is that you send us an E-mail, telling us in what city you're broadcasting them, so that we may tell the program hosts. They would love to know.

Also, it would be nice if you let us know what shows you pick and when/how often you air them.

We were recently granted a CP for an NCE, so we'll be producing even more, in the future.

Re: How many part 15'ers are interested in running "free" internet programming?

Sorry,my freind who just started up an oldies Part 15 FM wants no disco or talk.

Lets hear from other microcasters who play oldies who have succceeded with putting on Little Walter's Time Machine,Cool Bobby B's Doowop Stop,Glenn Sauter's Hits of Yesteryear,Beatle Brunch or Dick Clark's Rock Roll and Remember.

Wishful thkinking..but can we dream a little here?

Re: How many part 15'ers are interested in running "free" internet programming?

For oldies you might try:
www.kfxm.com
They are an LPFM, and do not carry "commercials" just mentions of financial support.
Try e-mailing them. They might grant you rebroadcast rights of their web stream.

Re: How many part 15'ers are interested in running "free" internet programming?

How many other KU band shows are out there? And what kind of equipment would you need to pull these in ?

Re: How many part 15'ers are interested in running "free" internet programming?

Well, Carl, I would definitely consider running the program, but my dilemma is that I have no staff to take the feed and put it on the air should the need arise for me to scoot somewhere. Committing to run this program (or any other regularly scheduled pgm) would "tie me down," and I'm not in a position to be able to do that. I would like also, to run that Kidd Kelly 80s show if it's still in production(I forget the name).

Another thing, we're still on crappy dial-up here. DSL is unavailable where we are, and only have one phone line. How long is the show again?

For shows check out http://www.access-america.net. Access America syndicates shows for hobby broadcasters, podcasters and such at a VERY reasonable rate. If there is no syndicated programming we play Big Band, old time Jazz and news at the top and bottom of the hour. Programming is distributed through Ku satellite AND Internet. Programming is free for everyone, but we like to know when it's on a radio station.

For Ku reception, you need a small (32 to 40 inch) dish with a standard linear Ku-LNB, and a digital DVB Free-To-Air (FTA) receiver. Equipment is fairly inexpensive and can be found easy on the net or E-Bay. We sell one system to support Access America. It can be found at http:www.gulfwireless.net.

For more questions, please contact me outside this forum.

Thanks,
Ralf

Re: How many part 15'ers are interested in running "free" internet programming?

I personally am looking to DECREASE the amount of outside content on my Part 15 station eventually (I just started it today at 100%, due to simple budget and upstart snafus.) to a more sensible level of 30% max in a few months.

However I will be cherry picking through the bunch to see what will work on the new "official" format...I'm looking for music intensive syndicated programs of the classic hits variety, which includes most mentioned here....

Re: How many part 15'ers are interested in running "free" internet programming?

I am happy someone posted all the programs for Part 15's to use. We have been looking for programming to use to fill time and to offer some great diversity for our (Hopeful) Listeners. Were new to the area, and we would like to know are there any sites that one can go to, besides Vintage fm, for online radio that has no real ID that is just different formats that we can use? I currently run Takin Ya back, Solid Gold Music Show, and Motown Memories. Atlanta just got another oldies station SO its kinda hard to run the same type of programming. Were also thinking of adding some Indie kind of music, or playing more Standards and Easy listening. Any ideas? They would be greatly considered. Thank you all for your time in reading...

Re: How many part 15'ers are interested in running "free" internet programming?

I would SERIOUSLY look at visiting the KCHost Radio Network, run out of Independence, MO. They can be found at http://www.kchost.net. I would talk to Rick Eidson (pronounced "edson").

I highly recommend the "Wild Wild Westmar Show". It airs on Tuesdays at 6pm Central/7pm EST. It's a three-hour comedy talk-show and also has some AAA and Indie music. Very good stuff.

"The Nightwatch Show" is also available. Todd Sheets is the host. It is a paranormal/conspiracy show, and he gets lots of guests in.

I'd say check it out.

Cheers,
Jody

Re: How many part 15'ers are interested in running "free" internet programming?

We are very excited to announce that we are broadcasting, right now, Al Cocchi's Saturday Nite Fever Classic Dance Party on WCRV-FM Lake Ariel, PA.
Al is also the "voice" of WCRV.
It airs live 9pm to 1am Saturday night, via Cyberstormradio.com. The show is heard around the world via the internet.

We are definately looking for stations to broadcast the program live!

You can automatically air the show, but please do write Al and let him know you plan to air the show (he will announce your call letters and location), or to ask any questions.
His email is [email protected]

ACSNFCDP is a disco-oriented show, and is a sure fit for WCRV since we play mostly 70's rare gold.
