How Many Products Can Boortz Endorse?

My experience has been that radio stations put restrictions on the number of endorsements that one personality can do at a time. Usually the limit has been 3-4, and the ad buy has to be very substantial and lengthy to get a major personality to do an endorsement. The reason of course is to give the personality some credibility so that his/her endorsements will be successful.

Maybe it's just my impression, but Neal Boortz seems to be doing more than 3 or 4 endorsements. I'm always hearing him. And yes, he always relates the product to his experience, i.e. "I just moved into my new home and have a theater," which of course convinced him to get Comcast Cable.

Is the lure of money in this tough economy causing stations and personalities to risk hurting their credibility?

Too many endorsements can burn a personalities credibility but most endorsements now are "forced" by an ad buy. Money will always win.

Boortz also used to give the AJC hell calling them a left wing rag until he started writing a regular column. Now, you rarely hear him say anything negative about them.

Is it a mix if local and national endorsements and therefore the national audience may only hear three or four endorsements?

Boortz used to rip WSB when he was on WGST...now it's all talk about "The Ex-Wife".

I believe that Mr. Boortz sold out many years ago.... Remember that commerical on WSB from around 2003 where his co-host Blenda Skelton was going a commerical for a pest control company and then, right in her commerical Neal interupts and says "That`s Right Blenda, the first 200 callers can receive......". I always thought that that commerical was so funny, espicallyhe way Blenda started it by saying "all these bugs...bugs...bugs, have they`ve been coming into y`all`s house too"? Does anybody happen to have this commerical that they can post the audio on here? Thanks......

I never listen to Boortz and have not in a long time. He's so tired and boring and has said everything he has to say. I remember when Sean Hannity was on WGST and when he left, Boortz braged about running him out of town. Now Boortz sucks up to him since Sean is the real winner. Don't get me wrong I don't listen to Sean either but I like him personally.

I have a problem with WSB "Health Reporter Sabrina Gibbons doing spots for St. Joseph Hospital. Sure they are innocuous blurbs about lung health but what happens if the hospital has a scandal of some kind, will Gibbons be able to be unbiased?

What's the deal? I mean, the purpose of ads is to make money for the station. Personalized ads even more so. If you broker the ad so that you get a big cut for your endorsement, good for you.

My favorite were the car ads that Neal does. BMW, Mercedes, etc. I would love those cars too, if they gave one to me to use for free. I got no probs with him getting something for free in exchange for mentions, but when he goes on to pontificate about how great this or that car is and then when the lease is up its time for a new FAVORITE car. It comes across as rather fake, phony and contrived.

I remember he used to rip on BMWs in favor of Benzes until he became a paid endorser for BMW. Ditto for Chevy vs. Ram trucks.

I remember from composing traffic logs that we weren't supposed to have two consecutive car spots and only one domestic and one foreign car manufacturer in the same stopset.

Is Boortz endorsing a foreign and a domestic? or wasn't he doing Chevy along with BMW at one point?

I remember Boortz advertising some bar in Doraville years ago. It was funny hearing him talk about "Wet T Shirt Nights" and "Ladies Nights". That had to be in the 1980`s. Does anyone have an aircheck of that????
