How much do local on air show hosts earn?

I'm curious. What kind of money does a popular breakfast show host earn? I have a pretty good grasp of TV salaries, having worked in that industry for 25 years, but I'm curious about the kind of money that the Steve and Vikkis of the world earn? Anyone have any idea?

I guess that all depends on when you eat breakfast.

It depends on the restaurant the breakfast host works at, if they stick around throughout brunch, and if tips are shared among the staff. Also, let us not discriminate. It's more appropriate to type "host/ess."

....just as it's more appropriate to say "server" rather than waiter or waitress.

In Las Vegas, that would be at midnight.

but if you are in Norway, breakfast at midnight might just work since depending the time of year the sun maybe out. ;D

I think the company "Hostess" is politically incorrect to serve Ho-Ho's.
There should be another offshoot of the same company named "Hosts" that sell "Jon-Jon's" ;D

Top morning hosts in this town can easily break the $400K a year mark, before bonuses. Some I've heard have made $1 million plus, including endorsements and appearances.

Don't radio 'shows' work as a contract? They aren't really employees of the station. The station pays the show, the show then pays the talent and then the talent pays tax on the earnings?

If ClearChannel owns it each morning show member probably 1. takes a pay cut, 2. says goodbye to at least one morning show cronie, 3. works for less than 30k a year, & 4. works for traded out cat food on Purina One mentions & horrid Tanya Roberts trade outs.

Is that a "continental breakfast" or "full course?"

Good question, oaktree....thanks for bringing this thread back to focus.

I like my breakfast any time of the day. Who says you can't have an omelette at 7 at night? And, I must not be alone, seeing the many many 24hr Waffle Houses (mmmm...waffle) and IHOPs around.

FYI: I got out of radio when I got the chance to do something I've never done before.

Eat AND pay rent in the same month.

Educated guesses:

Frank Ski: 800K+
Bert: 500K+
Zakk: 200K
Domino and Cellini: 150K each
Scott Slade: 350K
Cletus: 400K+
Rude: 175K
Lexi: 150K
Marco: 250K
CJ & Murph: 150K each
Kelly and Alpha: 300K+ each
A Team: 150K each
