I came across a talk station last week (a 50,000 watt "clear channel" owned by Clear Channel) that has a 3 hour local show in the morning (podcasts available), then has Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, etc. However this station does not have a live internet stream (even though there is a viable player window available to the station). I inquired to this particular host via e-mail if there was a plan for the station as well as his show to stream online. This particular host e-mailed back and said that his show could not stream without streaming Beck and Limbaugh (Hannity wasn't mentioned) and that they wanted a lot of money to have their show streamed, which is why this particular host's show is not streamed.
Which brings up the following questions: One, (approximately) do syndicated hosts such as Beck and Limbaugh charge stations to stream their show's online and the role of Clear Channel and Premier Radio Networks, a wholly owned subsidiary of Clear Channel, that syndicates Beck and Limbaugh.
I only bring this up since there are a plethora of Clear Channel owned News/Talk stations that stream online (both large and small) that stream Beck, Limbaugh, and Hannity. So why this particluar station doesn't stream is puzzling at best. I did not disclose the station nor the host out of respect for their privacy.
