How much $$$ is there in ATL radio/tv ?

As I am not "on the air" I'm wondering GENERALLY how much do they earn.....spill the beans......on the ones you may know

1. 2 year weather talent at the Weather Channel
2. new College grad hired as reporter at CNN
3. 8 year reporter at WSB
4. Ga Lottery on air talent
5. new College grad doing weekends at V103
6. 3 year reporter from Albany Ga moving to WSB
7. 5 year Atlanta weatherman on 2, 5, or 11
8. mid-day DJ at something like B98
9. lifetime 20 year+ anchor at Fox 5
10. Top sportscaster at 11 Alive

Thanks

#5 minimum wage
#8 highest I am aware of is in the $250k range, lowest $18k (not including talent or endorsement fees)

If you are in the market I'd suggest getting a good agent to get higher wages. If Norm Shrutt is still around he always neg. the best deals it seemed.

I do not work for the Weather Channel, but the main weather person on a local TV station usually is the second or third highest paid on air talent. The anchor or co anchors usually make the most. That being said, a “decent” weathercaster (which all the on air meteorologists at the WC are decent or excellent) should expect at least $70K. There are a couple of weathercasts at the WC I am surprised are still there. If you wanted to bring “instant” credibility to newscast’s weather on a #2 or #3 newscast in a #50 or lower TV market snag one of the WC weathercasters. In the late 1960’s and early 1970’s the weather guy at channel 5 in Nashville introduced the news anchor after he did his forecast AT THE START OF THE NEWSCAST! IIRC Bob Loberteenie was his name.
