Not sure if someone else will take the plunge into talk, or who; it depends on how much money can be made. Efforts by the likes of Salem and Clear Channel (1150, 1200) didn't quite work out.
As for the hosts, Graham and Eagan/Braude may wind up at WRKO but do they have room for them?
Kuhner may be doing OK in morning drive but supposedly they coveted E&B before. Would they put them in morning drive and Jeff only gets the 11 am hour, or vice versa? The brokered fiscal
stuff probably won't go away. Neither will Rush or Howie. And I don'[t know the details of Jeff's
contract but they'd only get an hour out of it, and take on added salary for others?
They prob have a contract to run Levin for awhile and would local work at 7 pm? Would they get rid of Doyle at 10 to put Graham or E&B on? Overnights they may stick with Coast 2 Coast. Weekends maybe they could find a home, though maybe their brokered time won't change. Would they risk it?
Smerconish--don't know if RKO would find a home for him (delayed at 10 pm?) Meehan of course
is now in Phoenix TV.Wall St Journal Wrap, Batchelor, Overnight America...where would they go?
Prob not to RKO.
So who else tries talk on AM or FM? Salem has 590, 950, and 1150. Not the best signals and they
have other programming commitments. Would they spend the money? Salem tried talk with 1150
but now it's Spanish religion I believe. WBZ? Where and when? Other stations on the AM dial?
As for FM, who would try it? What if Evolution 101.7 flops? They would try it for awhile at least
and I don't know if CC would try it, and on that signal. It's tough, unless J&M or Graham try their
luck somewhere else nearby--but who would want them in Prov, Worc, NH etc?
