How safe?

Out of all the talent in Nashville, who is making the most and how safe are they with all the cuts going on around the country? Two I thought of are Jerry House and his crew and George Plaster and his team. Both shows bring in a lot of money but both have the most overhead. Sad thing is cuts are on the way. Thoughts?

who is making the most ... Two I thought of are Jerry House and his crew i was told house makes three mil..and pays the crew around 100 large each..out of his salery..i find it hard to believe any radio job in nashville pays that kind of money..but perhaps someone closer to the game could verify..i don't care..in a free market...your worth what you can get..just like selling a car..worth what a willing buyer gives a willing seller..during the recent gas spikes, 15 year old geo metros were fetching over six grand..while i have less than 900.00 in the two i own and drive..somethings just don't make sense... ???

Delta......you are old enough to know better. DON"T believe anything you hear and only half of what you see. You'll probably find you are way off base here. Gerry (not Jerry) doesn't kiss and tell about his or anyone's salary and is way too shrewd to have to pay Dunk, Al, Mike or Richard out of his own pocket, although I'd think his input is taken into account when negotiating at contract time.
Or, as Gerry would say, I could be lying!!!! (remember what I said about DON'T believe?)

I said i found that info hard to believe ::) ..besides..everyone knows it's the news departments that pull down the big $$$$.. ;D

Buddy was pulling dowm mid six-figures when he was with CC...
and still managed to work only four days a week. I know it's true: Gerry told me.

I JUST WANNA PLAY DISCO. GET THAT RUBBER DUCKY OUT HERE (hee, hee, hee) ;D

Bring back Patrick Hernandez!

"I love the night life, I wanna BOOGIE at the DISCO"!

To heck what Chicago thought in 1979!

Chris, what did you do with the Disco tapes and records. Take them to the dump? I sure could have used them! :D

Radio is dying..blame it on corporate america who only cares about the bottom line. And now that we have a new commander and chief, wait until they pass the fairness doctrine. Goodbye talk show hosts..best place for you is on a street corner with a bullhorn...unless of course you get arrested..good luck with that.

No, sorry. I can vouch for that not being true. I worked in the WLAC newsroom back in 2004-5, overnights 5 days a week, fill in for the 5am show as anchor and sports when needed, did overnight news for WREC in Memphis and 3 morning newscasts for a Chattanooga station, along with three TRN sports 2 minute shows....from the WLAC newsroom....all for less than 10 bucks an hour. Somebody made some scratch there, but is sure as HELL wasn't the News department........

As long as it doesn't stop Scott Bailey from playing disco, that shouldn't be a problem. ;) ;D
