"How To Be A Gentleman" - Class Dismissed

DToTheJ said:
Frankly, if a show called "[Bleep] My Dad Says" couldn't make it in the Thursday 8:30 PM (ET) time slot, what will work?

It isn't the time slot. It's the crappy shows. The suits apparently believe they can put questionable shows on after the big lead-in from BBT but it hasn't worked. Put a quality show there and don't try to fool the viewers.

Precisely. The target demographic is 18-49; they are probably not even home on Saturday nights. The suits don't even know what a suit is, unless that means high top sneakers and garbage clothing. They wouldn't know how to be ladies and gentlemen if their lives depended on it, but ridicule people outside of the demographic area for not swallowing their trash.

I agree with the comments made in the provided link. They should move Good wife into the Thursday spot so football can't cut into it. Let Sunday be something targeting men after football...whatever that may be, respectfully.

"Big Bang Theory" trounces "Good Wife" in the 18 to 49 ratings, though. The networks like to air shows that appeal well to the demographic on Thursdays since its a big night for advertising- particularly as it applies to movies being released on Fridays, that also typically appeal to the 18 to 49 demo. So while "The Good Wife" may seem like a more natural fit, "Big Bang Theory" makes more sense.

"Whatever that may be" means more football.
No dice. NBC's got the exclusive on that

Unfortunately for NBC, Sunday Night is about THE ONLY night they can seem to win these days (And that ASS-U-MING there's no awards show on the other networks - Including The CW if it were to ever enter the awards show arena that is)

Cheers & 73 ;D

The word facetious uses all of the vowels in their alphabetical order. The "s" probably means "sometimes y".

Could "Rules of Engagement" return to this time slot? I hope it does. Moving it to Saturdays is just wrong, unless you're just airing reruns.

@top16: Agreed - moving a show to Saturday nights is about as worse a death knell as adding Ted McGinley to the cast. (And you may recall the final season of "Married with Children" had aired on Saturday nights - double whammy right there...)

That's exactly what's happening. "Engagement" will be premiere in the 8:30 time slot next Thursday 10/20. The remaining 7 episodes of "Gentleman" will be airing on Saturdays at 8:30 starting 10/15. This Thursday 10/13 a rerun of "Theory" airs at 8:30.

No dude. Ted was in 168 episodes of MWC. The guy he replaced David Garrison was in only 80. Who's the loser on MWC? David Garrison.

It did, but my TiVo didn't record it. It said that episode had already aired. Which it didn't! It was delayed.

Fortunately CBS comedies get rerun.
