How to Fix Citadel, Ideas from the Peanut Gallery

Farid Suleman uses the word "disappointing" several times on his report call, and most of that came from the "underperforming markets that have to be fixed", like the former ABC clusters in markets such as New York, L.A., Chicago, Dallas and Detroit. Suleman's very optimistic about what Don Imus can do for WABC, New York. Suleman says "we're gonna fix the underperformance, and we're gonna fix it fast."

How do you think he will "fix" his two underperforming stations in Chicago: WZZN & WLS?

When Farid talks about fixing things, he usually means "cut staff." More than likely, he'll send in Lady Napolean to bring the smack down on the local GMs and cluster managers. Citadel stock isn't exactly setting the world on fire.

Farid doesn't know his ass from his elbow. Watch what happens when they put that old cowpoke back on the air in New York AGAIN! As for Chicago, here's a clue Farid: TAKE OFF THAT CRAPPY SATELLITE OLDIES FORMAT AND GET RID OF SCOTT SHANNON. We don't give a shit if he is from Z100 in New York. No one in Chicago cares! Think about running that blowtorch FM station like a real radio property in a major market instead of like a small market cluster-mate of WLS.

In a perfect world, or at least my perfect world, Bill Leff would be gone from the Roe show, and he and Wendy Snider would once again have a morning show on the new Fresh. Then, Don and Roma would lose an hour, and Garry Meier and Jim Turano would get the 8:00 to 11:00 slot on WLS. Then, the afternoons would be Roe and Jerry! It probably wouldn't happen, but I can dream.

That has got to be the funniest thing I've read on this board in a long time!

I'm just curious as to whom WABC let go to make room for Imus? What were the circumstances? I probably should post this on the New York board, but I figure may be Stephanie could bring me up to speed. Thanks.

Correct. Sliwa is still doing the morning slot until the end. Kuby was fired a few weeks ago. Surprisingly, Curtis wasn't very thrilled about what WABC did to Kuby.
