How well did jammin oldies do here?

I couldnt remember but how well did 98.5 & 103.3 do when they were jammin oldies? I forgot who owned them when they were jammin, seems like that format is comming back, BMP in san antonio brang it back on 94.1 (KTFM) and they are number 3 and only been out since Jan. Wonder how well that format will work in Houston once again?

Jamming Oldies then Jamming Hits did pretty good for a rimshot...
IIRC, they pulled 3+ ratings....better than most rimshots are doing now..
(and overall better than Liberman does with the stations now!)

On a FULL C local station (or even say 104.9 or a similarly placed signal) it would do ok....(but then you are looking at a JACK style format.....just redone and done better than a JO format was)

It was owned by Clear Channel. Well, 103.3 was owned by CC. KHYS 98.5 was LMAed to CC. I was there when the switch was made. Shortest ride to work I ever had. I would get off at 5AM as "Chuck Tiller" on 100.3 KILT on the 19th floor, grab the elevator to the 15th floor and become "Charles Calloway" on Smooth FM 98.5 and 103.3. Ted Carson was the PD. He hired me on the elevator on the way to work one morning. Well, we 1st started talking about it in the elevator. :) I did this every Saturday and Sunday morning. Here I am doing it again on The Wave.

Talk about luck ;) I checked out the wave last weekend, kind of liked what they were playing little more stuff kind of like chill stuff, pretty good.

.....if KHPT were to have been running a jammin oldies format, would they be in better shape then they are now?.....gotta wonder about that.....

98.5 was owned by CC (Since the 1970s!) and 103.3 also owned by CC at that time (bought from the original owner, Bill Cordell who built the xmtr site at Sargent)...then it got LMAed by RadioOne (where it stayed until being bought by Liberman....the station itself was in a trust after the CC/AMFM merge as it put CC over the limit)
I know Stephanie Smith worked there during the Jamming Hits days and did mornings I think...she was either MD or APD....I thought it sounded ok (but the processing needed some work!)
As for Smooth days, I am a little hazy on that but the question was asking about the Jammin days..
