How well do you hear the following stations at night?

I'm beginning to think it's a Cuban station. The Caracas 750 turns out to be news/talk in Spanish according to the Wikipedia. If I have heard that, that would be over 2000 miles from where I live.

In East Texas, about 20 miles west of Tyler:

530 RVCI...no, it's all Havana here
640 KFI...never; it's always WWLS mixing with a Cuban
730 XEX...always there
750 WSB...always, sometimes with Caracas underneath
760 WJR...weak, with Mexico City mixing in
850 KOA...one of the strongest signals here, rivaling WOAI and WWL
870 WWL...usually the strongest skywave (often beating WBAP)
880 WCBS...never from here; instead a moderate signal from KRVN
890 WLS...a pitiful signal, marred by KVOZ Laredo TX and a Cuban
1000 KOMO...never received; usually a mix of KTOK and Radio Mil
1110 KFAB...usually a strong signal with little fading

I will never forget vacationing in Panama City Beach in 2004 and hearing the Venezuela 750 COMPLETELY trash WSB, often to the point WSB just wasn't there. It's not like I was that far from Atlanta, either. When I lived in Texas, though, if I heard anything on 750 under KTRH slop it always was WSB.

Yeah on a few of my trips to Florida Caracus can top WSB.

In Bellingham, WA

530 RVCI...It's clash of the TIS stations here.
640 KFI...Sometimes
730 XEX...Not a chance under CHMJ
750 WSB...KXL rules out here
760 WJR...A few times in deepest winter. There was once a rock station up in Castlegar, BC called CKQR which once ruled that frequency (they went FM a long time ago....) But I often hear a ghosty KFMB underneath the splatter from 750 and 770 out here
850 KOA...Usually a hash of KHHO, KOA, and somebody else
870 WWL...They say it CAN come in up here. But I've never heard it
880 WCBS...Usually a hash of KIXI and KWIP
890 WLS...It's CJDC Dawson Creek, BC here
1000 KOMO Rules up here
1110 KFAB...After daytimer KWDB signs off, KBND, Bend, OR takes over 1110

new to this section of the board. I'm going to throw my two cents in....

location - Eastern Massachusetts

530 RVCI - every night, usually fair signal
640 KFI - never
730 XEX - logged it this week for the first time - only when conditions are right as CKAC dominates
750 WSB - every night, usually fair signal
760 WJR - every night - solid and strong as a local
850 KOA - never, local WEEI on channel
870 WWL - rare and when its present, its faint
880 WCBS - every night, lots of days too
890 WLS - with local nulled, pretty regularly, fair signal but not the strongest windy city signal here
1000 KOMO - never
1110 KFAB - never, WBT from Charlotte is the usual

I just saw this thread, I guess I'll participate...

I'm located in W. Washington.

530 RVCI -- If it's Radio Vision Christiana, I logged this on my GE boombox when I took it with me to Louisiana a long time ago. Never heard it here in Washington, usually there's a local TIS there, anyway.

640 KFI -- appears nightly, at varying strengths.

730 XEX -- I have a tentative logging of this station in my log, I don't remember when it was -- might have been during the 80's? Def. not recently, usually covered in CHMJ Vancouver BC.

750 WSB -- never have heard this. KXTG (formerly KXL) and other stations predominate

760 WJR -- heard once in the late 1970's on my DX-160, heard in E. Washington on my Superadio.

850 KOA -- appears generally in KTTH's weak spot, E-W

870 WWL -- logged every now and then; first in the 70's, and then once or twice during the 80's, and once this DX season.

880 WCBS -- Never. Not even before KIXI moved there, when it was usually KRVN Lexington NE.

890 WLS -- heard extremely weakly on rare occasions. Logged in the 70's a couple times (didn't have the KIXI-880 splatter to contend with back then, of course). This frequency usually has CJDC Dawson Creek and / or KDXU, St. George, UT.

1000 KOMO -- (local station)

1110 KFAB -- Generally appears mixing with KBND, as slapback echo when Coast To Coast is on, and clear IDs when they run their news, coming in a lot stronger when radio is turned E-W.

Memphis, TN

530 RVCI - if there's anything on 530 i've always assumed it's this
640 KFI - never, there's local WCRV
730 XEX - there's a local KQPN but you can hear what I assume is XEX in the background
750 WSB - every night, usually quite strong
760 WJR - every night
850 KOA - every night
870 WWL - every night, sometimes blasting in like a local
880 WCBS - every night, but weak
890 WLS - every night, fighting with a Spanish language station
1000 KOMO - never, it's WMVP under slop from local KWAM 990
1110 KFAB - you can catch them around sunset till the pattern changes. 1110 is usually blank here at night

Warminster PA(Philly 'burbs, updated):

530-RVCI: never heard
640-KFI: not at all; always the local Radio Disney WWJZ
730-XEX: on occasions
750-WSB: strong here
760-WJR: dominates in this area
850-KOA: not at all; usually WEEI or WKNR
870-WWL: sometimes, along with WHCU Ithaca NY
880-WCBS: always
890-WLS: dominates
1000-KOMO: never heard; WMVP is dominant here
1110-KFAB: never heard; WBT is always here

In the late 70s and early 80s when I was visiting northern California, I could sometimes hear a weak WCBS very late at night after KRVN signed off.

Same thing with the old WCAU 1210 when the station somewhere half way across the country (forget which one) signed off.

Never heard 660 WNBC though as hard as I tried and back then, there was no other station on the same frequency either. All I ever heard was some barely audible fading of something I couldn't begin to ID.

Updated list for Monroe, WA

530-RVCI (or Cuba) - never heard. Have been trying for years.
640-KFI nightly
730-XEX never. I've logged KSVN-UT which was also SS (one time)
750-WSB never. Usually Portland mixed with others, i.e. KERR-MT, CKJH-SK, etc.
760-WJR VERY rarely.
850-KOA common at night under KHHO.
870-WWL rarely, but I've heard them a couple times.
880-WCBS never with KIXI, KWIP, CHQT and others
890-WLS ONE time.
1000-KOMO local
1110-KFAB somewhat common

P.S. - Gar, that 1210 that signed off at night was KGYN in Guymon, Oklahoma.

I also heard WCBS several times in Southern California in the 60s, 70s, & 80s (after KRVN signed off). Heard WABC once in California after KOB signed off.
Here in the Chicago area, KFI used to be a regular and fairly easy catch, but now with so many stations on 640, I haven't heard it in at least 15 years.
WMFN really kills it for me because I can't null it & try for KFI at the same time.
We need to return to the days of nightime clear channels. ;D

Update,

I have gotten KOA a few times, Cubans underneath WLS and WSB, and an undentified Spanish station on 730 playing a guitar and vocals tune, so that may rule out XEX since XEX is sports talk in Spanish according to Wikipedia.

Just remember - my dream AM log is WBZ killing KTWO, and WABC in the null of my local KTTH!

~5 years later:

530 RVCI - no (just WPHG710)
640 KFI - maybe, maybe not
730 XEX - no
750 WSB - no (just KXL, or whatever they're calling it this week)
760 WJR - no (KXL sideband)
850 KOA - no (KPAM sideband)
870 WWL - no (KPAM sideband)
880 WCBS - no (mess prominently featuring KWIP)
890 WLS - no
1000 KOMO - usually
1110 KFAB - only on tape, and only from the FM side in its easy-listening days--see https://youtube.com/watch?v=XYfMErIKi5U

So for the most part it looks like practically nothing has changed, except I do have a Youtube file now (which I didn't have back in 2008.)
