How Well Does WPWC Come In In DC?

David Shuster was on the syndicated Stephanie Miller Show on Wednesday, and said that her program will soon be available in DC because WPWC-AM 1480 would start carrying her show. It's a station operating fairly high on the AM band two clicks below a 50K blowtorch at 1500 with a directional array 25 miles SW of Downtown Washington. The FCC website shows its strongest signal to the northeast; Radio-locator shows it sending most of its signal to the SE. How well can it be heard in any of the DC suburbs to the south and west if not the City?

Does WTOP have IBUZ?
You mean WFED 1500 kHz. Not any more (thank God!)!

WPWC comes in weakly in northern PG county. My guess is that it will get into DC OK. With all the failed attempts at doing 'progressive' talk in DC, I wonder what makes people think that it can work this time?

WPWC was mainly directed at Prince William County for years, hence the calls. They've never been particularly strong, and honestly, outside of the the area of Prince William County and a few surrounding counties, I've never heard them much. Last I did hear them was on a good day of e-skip in October or so, and they were all Spanish.
