Not another Saga bloodletting on the way??? You are definitely THE man in the know and gave everyone the heads up on the previous mass exodus from Western Ave.
 
Dan Lunnie from WOKQ was let go just after he just returned from two weeks of RR. His wife died from a brain tumor, and Danny returned to duty only to be fired. He was with WOKQ for like 25 years..

So yes they'll be blood. Radio is run by mean & nasty people..

Todays WBLM is the epitome of why radio is failing... zero freedom for the on air staff... moronic humour that couldn't fight it's way out of a "break off" in Fort Kent... the same songs we were playing 20 years ago... but even LESS variety... Despite what most soon to be fired radio execs and programmers think... people are not stupid.

The WBLM of the old days... cool, hip, funny, articulate and on it... could survive today if only someone had the balls to try to think outside the wet paper sack!

Better hope I don't get my hands on that station 'cause heads are gonna roll and turn and squirm... and people are gonna laugh and listen... stay tuned suckers!

Greg,

Good to hear you're still out there and with an ear to the ground of Portland radio. Pity that also long gone are the "free format, stream of consciousness (those of us who were conscious) days when we were at 'MGX. I don't subscribe to the idea that in order to garner a 35+plus demo you have to play "classic rock." Keeping it smart, informative, entertaining and stimulating is where the money is.
