You are correct.

I can recall when 1010 WINS went all-news in 1965, and when WOR-FM flipped to rock in 1966, a few months before 98.5 WRKO-FM did.

I would've thought so, but opinions, thoughts, comments, conjectures expressed here by non-insiders who, nonetheless, love radio broadcasting, perhaps even more than some of the seasoned insiders, seem to be dismissed as rantings of wing-nuts.
