How will the Sinclair merger (which I doubt might happen) affect Tampa Bay?

I know Tampa Bay isn't a Sinclair market (anymore, because WTTA is with Nexstar & WFLA), but since Fox seems to be making a deal with Ion against Sinclair, who knows if Tampa, despite being an ex-Sinclair market, will be affected from this?

I think the affected stations might be WTTA/Great 38 (Nexstar-owned MyTV), and WXPX 66 (Ion).

If somehow MyTV merges with Ion TV, if Ion gets bought by Fox (or maybe vice versa), this would lead WTTA 38 to become either Independent or affiliate with a subchannel network (but I don't know, since it's spectrum was sold), and WXPX 66 to be sisters with WTVT and move to the Fox 13's studios in Tampa (recognized by the SkyTower).

This is just a speculation of how the Sinclair/Tribune/Fox/Ion mess might affect Tampa.

I think it will only affect those in Sinclair markets so those like Tampa Bay won't see their FOX affiliation moved from WTVT.

Well in markets where Sinclair owns a Fox Affiliate like KTXL Sacramento, and KCPQ Seattle that there's been rumors over "New Sinclair Network" where people like Mark Hyman specifically could have a primetime pundit show just in case they lose the Fox affiliation. Note various articles have announced this supposed New Sinclair network but for now its PR Campaign that Scott Livingston is spewing out for now.
