I am throwing this topic out for discussion. I do not feel qualified to answer it myself since I am an old guy who would never listen to either of the two anyway.
Well, it's as I've said on previous posts. Z-100 has been the "powerhouse" all these years with the CHR format with no competition for about 17 years or so. 92.3 Now cannot match the playlist "spot on" to what Z is doing because they would fail. But the one thing Z does not touch (since they have to protect 'KTU) is a bit of dance music. 92.3 can do that. Not to the point that the station sounds like Pulse 87 but definitely a bit more than what Z is doing.
For Z, their approach is the fact that they HAVE been around all these years. They can certainly knock 92.3 if they want to. But I think if CBS does go different and take on areas Z has avoided, there could be a VERY interesting CHR war going on!
I would like to see the new "92.3 Now" to go after Z-100, just like when WPLJ did back in the 80's, remember it was "Power 95" from 1985 until 1990 and Scott Shannon's "Mojo Radio" from 1991.

Nothing wrong with 92.3 going after Z-100. Radio lacks competition, which is a part of the problem with radio today.. A nice CHR war would make things real interesting.
