HOWARD IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE

STOP THE RUMORS! Howard's contract is not up for 2 years and one month with Sirius-he is not going anywhere. Enough already!

Yes he is. He's leaving in June and going to terrestrial radio. I read on the Internets, so it MUST be true!!

Why, aren't you having fun? Is your head about to burst? Does your chewing gum lose it's flavor on the bedpost overnight?

Howard has a clause in his contract and yes he WILL excercise it and opt out in June of 2009. Count on it. At this time he has talked with Citadel, A couple of FM stations but likely will take the syndication route.

How much insight does BossJock1947 have regarding Howard Stern's future? Hopefully, it's more insight than he had regarding the replacement for the late and very great Ron O'Brian on WOGL.

Remember this string?

BossJock1947 never responded to any questions about his disseminating false information

BossJock1947 has had a great career and I, for one, admire his accomplishments in radio. However, he unfortunately has no credibility regarding any individual's future plans. I don't know why he writes posts like this. His opinions and viewpoints are quite valid. However, his prognostication abilities aren't worth anything.

Howard said on sirius he likes it better at sirius than FM,so why in gods name would he go back to FM?It would make him look bad to radio, his sirius listeners and everyone who thought he had left for "better things".
If anything I think he's either renew his sirius contract or retire from radio as a whole,he could take up acting or something else-

I think Howard is a smart enough guy to see the writing on the wall for the combined SiriusXM. I think it is a very good bet that Stern will return to Terrestrial radio late next year, probably with a syndication deal that will be just as huge as his Sirius show. Howard's show, IMHO has gone way downhill since Satellite radio - because of broadcasting on a relatively obscure medium, he no longer gets the quality of guests that he did on his OTA program. I wonder if he did come back to regular radio if he would have the kind of drawing power that he had before going over to Sirius.

I thought it was funnier listening to Howard dance around the subject on FM, than actually being able to swear. He did have too many monkeys on his back though, so im siding with him. But can we say he has taught FM a lesson? -Brian "Ryno's Critic" in Syracuse

What rock did you crawl out from? In one day Sirius as a whole has more listeners than the top ten markets combined. Stern gets about million a week, not what he got earlier, but he gets paid far more to do a show that as he puts it, he enjoys doing a million times more than terrestrial. As for guests, Stern addressed that article written by the LA Times since they were looking to blast Sirius being that they were buying terrestrial stations and I have to agree with him. The quality of his guest have not changed.

to name a few I can remember being on recently along with a million strippers, porn stars, etc that I could do without. And some of the best interviews of these people you ever heard. Stern is best at interviews. When you look at the cross section of people he's had on recently and his great interview style, you have a hit. And to me the best interview of them all Goumba Jonny who is funny and told the best stories I ever heard on Stern.

On today's Howard Stern show on Sirius, Howard took a call from someone who asked if Howard planned on re-signing his contract with Sirius when it ends in two years. Howard explained he was pleased to do the best radio of his life, but thought he would be done at the contract's conclusion: "This is my swan song." Howard added that he looked forward to just spending his days with Beth and believed she felt the same way.
Gary came in to ask if Howard was being real, and Howard confirmed he was: "I feel strongly about it. If I could work out a deal with Sirius where I work on my own terms, I'd think about it." Howard said he'd recently received a lot of other offers, but they don't interest him: "If I wasn't with this group, I'm done. If this is done, I'm done."
