Howard Stern, Infinity, and KLSX

Are the guys are at Infinity nimrods or what??? Today they suspend Howard and the incident gets tons of press previewing his departure to Sirius all because "he" was promoting Sirius too much on the air today? Duh, were has the suits at Infinity been for the last 14 months????

There is NO company on this planet that would EVER let an employee no matter who it is remain in his position AND promote himself and his switch to a competing service nearly a billion times... Sirius says a big THAANNNK you to Infinity for all the new traffic they have gotten for FREEEEEE.

No matter what, this is one of the stupidist blunders in entertainment in years. Infinity execs are morons, plain and simple.

Had they removed him from the air when he signed with Sirius, Howard's thunder would have been all but moot. Instead, he has played them like a guest on his show. Brilliant for Howard though. Infinity just couldnt bite the bullet.

They gave Sirius probably $20 million in FREE advertising, now wonder they will change to Free FM, cause revenue at the Ex Howard stations will tank.

Gee, what will the rationale be in response to this post here? They had to keep him on for revenue reasons? Lame. I got news for those who think it, the revenue at the stations he will leaving will tank and Lee Roth aint gonna bring in the dough the way Howard did.

Talk Radio for males is a big market in this country, Does FREE FM, (Oh I get it...Free as in FREEEE, no fees like Sirius) really think Howards audience arent loyal enough to follow him?? Just you watch. He has the most loyal following marketing trends of his demo year after year.

Looks like its just a one day suspension. I know it seems it gives Sirius a little plug on Howard's move (which is no national secret anyway) but also it puts Infinity in the news and they can plug their new shows as well. Yes, they could of released him early BUT, think of all the money they would of lost during that time frame.

He does not know what he's talking about, released him early? they would have had a drop off in revenue from that point where he made the announcement almost a year now, in addition to the drop off that he has predicted with his successor DLR. Plus his final shows have been sold for record numbers. So lose howard and make money from his show until then?.......or lose Howard, salvae a little pride by taking him off early and give up the millions that you could have made in the final days of teh show?.

Not a very tough choice is it?. Infinity is a business and they'll take the profit even if it comes with a little pain I,E Howard's plugging "eh eh eh" etc.
