Howard Stern Signs Off

It's Howard Stern's last day on terrestrial radio, and his last show for KQJK-93.7 "Jack FM." The Stern Show is the last vestige of a turbulent period for that frequency. Since Stern's arrival four years ago (when 93.7 was KXOA), that frequency has hosted to the following formats: Talk/Classic Rock; Talk/Alternative; Alternative; and now, "Jack." In all that time, the Stern show was the only consistent ratings winner for the station.

As of 10am today, there will be no LIVE air talent at all on Jack-FM. The station will not be taking "Best Of Stern" reruns that are being made available to stations between now and 12/30.

Yes, another significant change for the station once known long ago as "93 Rock", before the signal swap with Entercom. Since January, 1999, 93.7 has undergone more changes than Joan Rivers and Carnie Wilson combined. Good ideas and good people have passed through those halls, too bad never at the same time...

That's terrible 93-7's not airing Stern's best of. Thank got i have an underground stream to the show. Today Benji was trying to do a 2 hour show, taking live calls today and interviewing gary the retard, fran the singing psychic and daniel carver. he sucked so bad, tom came in and told him to sign off, then they played best of stern. this city, much like the jack format REALLY sucks!

naw, it's just the loud sound of all those crickets...

Other than a few diehard fans, not enough folks are listening or care....

Finally, Tom Chiusand did something I agree with!

What will you do when the Stern leftovers are gone?

> this city, much like the jack format REALLY sucks!

Not to sound cruel, Brad, but it's time to move on...

Move on to satellite with the rest of the Stern marks...or,
Move on to another morning radio program you might like...

Or, if you think this city sucks so bad...

Move on. Period. It may not be perfect, but it's where we are. Instead of empty criticism, let's try brightening up Sacramento by changing it for the better. Or, just getting out.

Happy holidays.
