Howard's Last Week on K-Rock Monday 12-12

Use jetaudio (jetaudio.com) It can record in the ogg vorbis format (a compression format similar to MP3, but sounds better (to my ears anyway). It has a timer feature which will go on every day at the same time. Sample rate adjustments to your preference. Free.

by the way... 12-13

...do you have the first 3 hours of the tuesday 12.13 show? My power went out...

I will check it out, but am heavily invested in mp3 format and not much of an audiophile - good enough is usually good enough for me!

I have 6-8:30am on 12-12-05 if you want it.

I use jetaudio too, my version only has a timer for how long you want to record. Does the updated (free) version now have an actual timer you can set to start recording at a certain time, or do you have the extended version you have to pay for?

Will ogg vorbis play on a regular cd player (if under 79min) or do you just use this for listening on computer? I never experimented with all the other formats on jetaudio except for WMA9 which burns a regular cd fine but anything longer wont play on anything other than my computer. When I convert wav files to mp3 I can burn them as data discs and they play in my DVD player no matter how long they are.

AFAIK, it has always had the timer option. I have used it for over 2.5 years
You should have at timer and alarm button next to each other on the right side. Under those controls, you have action and set. Click each of them, and I think it becomes clear what to do. Just don't forget to press 'start' after setting the time, press alarm to see the time set to start. The little bell lights up.

I don't think the dvd player chipsets include ogg codecs.

If you get winamp, you can play and convert ogg to .mp3 and .wav. So, if you don't mind spending a few minutes, it does the job well.

Have fun.
