A quick recap of who I am and what I do: for more than 30 years, I've been doing broadcast news (WCAP Lowell MA, WBZ Boston, Time Warner/R News Rochester and since 2004 at WXXI Public Media in Rochester as a fill-in anchor, program host and reporter.)

I began actively covering the broadcast industry in 1994 with the launch of what's now NorthEast Radio Watch, my weekly column about radio and TV in the northeastern US and eastern Canada. It appears every Monday at fybush.com, along with Tower Site of the Week (a compilation of my visits to thousands of broadcast facilities) every Friday, the Top of the Tower podcast and the annual Tower Site Calendar, now in its 21st year. I also run the Tophour.com site that compiles station IDs, in partnership with RadioInsight and Lance Venta's family of websites.

Over the years, I've been an editor or writer for Radio World, Radio Guide, M Street Journal/The Radio Journal/Inside Radio and Current, the newspaper of public broadcasting.

Under my consulting banner of Fybush Media, I provide FCC filing services and strategic signal expansion work for broadcasters from coast to coast, including several major statewide public broadcasters. I also work as a station broker, helping connect buyers and sellers to keep stations in good hands. And I do some contract engineering work, including serving as chief engineer for Black-owned WDKX here in Rochester.

When I'm not doing radio, I dabble in stand-up comedy (often alongside my wife, who hosts a Beatles radio show on our local LPFM), collect coins and travel. I have two kids, one heading to college and the other to high school. They do not listen to the radio, nor does the dog.
