HOWIE CARR SHOWS HIS STUPIDITY

Howie Carr made more of a fool of himself tonight than usual. He was doing a segment on old local TV memories.

Someone called asking about former Channel 4 anchor, Tony Pepper.

Howie Carr said the last time he say Tony he was doing the news at the old WHDH Radio when it was a talk station.


Carr said Tony Pepper "looked the worse for wear".

Well, you fool Howie, Tony Pepper is a severe Type 2 diabetic.

Last I heard Tony had lost part or all of his vision.

Had the opportunity to work with Tony Pepper and all reports to the contrary he was a gentleman and a very supportive co-worker.

Tony Pepper is a nice guy and he deserves better than an unwarranted slap by Howie Carr.

Well, if you heard Howie in context he was referring to Tony's departure from Ch.4 and that he ended up in radio because of that.
Howie said it as if Tony had no other option and looked the worse for wear because of that . . . not his diabetes. In addition, Tony lost his son in a car crash in 1986 or so.

Just another insensitive remark by a jerk who made his career on the bones of other...even those like Jerry Williams to whom Carr owes his radio spot. I say "spot" in the same text as Lady MacBeth said "spot" if you get my drift.

THe sad truth is that I don't think that he did have any other option but that does not make him a failure. Im not a Howie Carr fan but I dont think it makes him evil for commenting that Pepper looked poorly for whatever reason. IF he is a diabetic so what? Howie commented that he looked worse for wear it's not the harshest critique heard. I think I heard Tony drank a bit after ch. 4 which could also have added to his look that Howie commented on.

WHOA it is nothing personal and it is also not libel, I said I thought I heard that Tony drank a bit, in fact I know he did once upon a time. Maybe now he is as sober as a judge as you said but that's also your opinion without any facts that anyone here can confirm. No matter, I suggested that you overreacted with this whole thread and I have not seen anything to convince me otherwise. This is what Howie does, who does not know that?. It is what he is paid very handsomely for. He siad he thought he looked worse for wear and that is perfectly fair for him to say. You are the one discussing personal aspects of Mr, Pepper's life here in this public forum that are personal. I bet he would not want you discussing whatever medical situation he has here with strangers even if you think your heart is in the right place.
