Howie Carr sued by former employee

Nothing on Jared's social media since during '16 when he went from WFEA morning host (at age of 24) to "Operations Dir. of the Howie Carr Network". He and Howie's family had their pictures taken with Trump. He helped
promote the ill-fated, brief Curt Schilling show Howie tried to market. At some point this year there was a falling out and he left Howie's employ and the article and the legal complaint has more details on his lawsuit.

The claim Howie attempted to hack his account is laughable, considering Howie is probably the most technically illiterate person I know on the planet.

He still uses a IBM Selectric to type his columns.

(File under "chump lyin'"?)

A basic tenet of any tort action is a plaintiff has a duty to mitigate damages. Thus, at worst case, IMO, even if the court upheld the claim that the marketing emails constituted a breach, the plaintiff would have had a duty to mitigate that breach by "unsubscribing" from the mail chump mailing list, which he did not. So maybe (big maybe) you could claim 1 breach @ $50k.

After reading the court filing and the counter claims, my conclusion is the plaintiff has not been able to find work since his departure and is looking to supplement his income with another "settlement". I'm not seeing how this (publicly) will help his career prospects going forward, though.

Guess he's been taking biking lessons from John Kerry.

Howie's had some accidents. One was on a Sun morning when he went to the Herald to pick up his check. And a week or so before he started his own network (Nov of 14) his car rolled over on the Pike...right after election night.

Howie's intro since he started on his own network has Dana Hersey saying, "'Better strap yourself in!" Would think he was buckled up himself that night.

One was on a Sun morning when he went to the Herald to pick up his check.

...and a guy who doesn't even have direct deposit (how... 70's!) is supposed to have hacked an Uber account? lol.

must have happened down in West Palm.... I wonder if he dined with THE Donald on turkey day...... oh who am I kidding if he did it would be all over his twitter feed ad one of you would have mentioned it

Howie likes to visit the Herald on Sunday mornings, he takes the long way in to avoid the Mass Pike tolls, in addition to picking up his mail, I am told he likes to help himself to the office supplies. If find the stapler missing from your desk on Monday morning you know Howie was there the day before.

In addition to the injuries he suffered yesterday, he also broke the little bell of his handle bar.

Steve R said sponsor Matthews Bros bought him a new bike.Details of the accident will be revealed today-- think it was a regular bike outside, in W Palm Beach, not an exercise bike indoors.

There's a pic online of Jared Goodell with Howie and his family and The Donald.

>>Howie ended up inspiring a generation of tough-guy journos—such as WEEI’s Gerry Callahan—who aped his cynical style. “As a young reporter starting out, I looked at his work with a fair amount of awe,” WBZ political analyst Jon Keller tells me.

Profile of Howie Carr-- from attacking hacks to becoming part of the Trump elite (daughter works in administration); the "cheap bastard" who (with lots of help from wife Kathy) is squeezing out as much money as possible. It mentions getting control of his own show has him cashing in...and says hardly anyone showed up at Jerry Williams' wake.

btw recall that Howie tried to break away from Entercom in 07 to have control of his own show...it took 7 years after judges ruled he had to stay but he's really cashing in now.
Howie's show did get syndicated to other markets and quite a few got added after the "Howie network" got going

Umm you might want to get off your Howie pedestal and listen to some old tapes of "The Dean" before Howie's time. I think you might find the inspiration started longer ago.

Oh no question...and Howie's far from perfect as the article points out.
What happened to Howie Carr...? Insert "cash register ringing" sound effect.

"My name's Howie Carr not Father Time"--Howie, around the time Jerry Williams "retired"...pushed out by the younger, relatively, Howie?
Howie turns 67 in January, a year or two younger than Rush.
Imus "retired" at 77.
Some talk hosts of course have passed on, including Brudnoy, Jerry (he at 68), Jerry Doyle (only 60), Ed Schultz, Alan Colmes etc

Howie is getting up there in age and cashing in while he can.

Allegedly, from his testimony on his show earlier this week, he realized he was wearing his reading glasses as he was starting to ride, so went to take them off with his right hand and stash them away.

If you look closely, though, you can see a 5-cent returnable soda can near his bike, so current belief is he was attempting to pick it up and crashed in the process.
