HOWIE CARR TRIES TO SANDBAG DEVAL PATRICK

C

Casablanca

Guest
This afternoon Howie Carr on WRKO had the mayor of Leominister on to discuss the 15 year old case about an individual, Benjamin Laguire (sp?) who is challenging his conviction of rape years before. Many well known individuals including former President of Boston University, John Silber, has questioned this person's conviction. Of the many who signed a document 15 YEARS AGO questioning the conviction was Deval Patrick.

Now, Mayor Dean Mazzarella, comes forward to attack Deval Patrick.

However, if you go to the Kerry Healy website: http://www.healeycommittee.com/entries/2005/10/leominster_project_gets_700000.htm

You will see the Mayor Dean Mazzarella is an active supporter of Kerry Healy.

Howie, tell the whole story or get off the air !

I just tried the link about and it didn't connect. Try this below: link :http://www.healeycommittee.com/entries/2005/10/leominster_project_gets_700000.html

Is there a lot of this sniping going to happen soon?

Who did Mayor Dean Mazzarella vote for in the primary - where did Howie find him! Is this the first time
Leominster's been on RKO?

And speaking of the Mayors around the Boston area: anyone notice how the telemarketing heated up around the primaries? Tom Reilly had Democratic mayors calling on his behalf, Tom Reilly himself would call for Tom Reilly.

Now that Reilly is out of the mix, does Deval Patrick embrace the support of those Democrats who phoned on behalf of Reilly? Is there any kind of ostracizing from those now in control because people were playing both ends against the middle? Or do Democrats and Republicans (with the exception of the non-ticket Christy/Kerry debacle) usually kiss and make-up "for the party" ?

Howie could've filled his chump line with 'em. I left Reilly's message on the chumpline.

It was clearly a set-up job with Howie Carr. It seems likely since Mayor Dean Mazzarella's name appears on the Kerry Healey For Governor website that someone from her campaign office set up the interview on Howie's show.

Wonder if the courts would consider Howie Carr's action and more that of his boss, Entercom, ' a gift in-kind' which should be reported to the IRS and other campaign reporting agencies.

Mazzeralla said he is an independent who voted for Gabreili and Murray but his position on the Kerry Healey For Governor Campaign proves Mazzerella to be .... well... someone who is telling an untruth about his true political leaning.

As mentioned in the first post, this was a set-up job to sandbag Deval Patrick. Don't be surprised if "Scoot" Allen Miller picks this up in the morning. Miller's prejudice if not bigotry against Deval Patrick [ and you may interpret ' prejudice ' as broadly as you want ] is clear and obvious.

The mere fact that Miller is from Indiana and supporting another candidate does not make him a bigot or prejudiced. And frankly it's downright unfair and reckless to assert such a claim without concrete evidence. Being accused of racial prejudice is much like being accused of being an alcoholic in that the person accused is guilty until proven innocent. And such a charge should not be leveled casually because you disagree with somebody's politics or resent someone's professional standing and wish to see them knocked down a few pegs.

And you haven't exactly been a rose when it comes to prejudice either. I would argue your citing of Miller's Indiana upbringing is the latest example. Of course, there were you're mean spirited and downright bigoted remarks aimed at Dr. Phil McGraw and his family during the July 4th holiday on the New England television board. What I find equally horrifying is nobody here has yet to call you out in any of these instances. It speaks volumes about the attitudes of New Englanders and Bostonians.

It speaks more of the Sooto's of the world and the DoctR Phil's. PS. Did he ever get his double wide off the Esplanade? ;)

Seriously, SAM's actions define him to the listeners. Sure there are many fine people in Indiana. He may be one of them but he seems to be saying anything now to attract attention or save his job.

This poster's comments are more of disappointment than anger. Thought he had more to offer but he seems to be caving into pressure from Entercom to perform of be gone.

And might you be so kind to actually post specific examples of what he is "saying" to keep his job that could warrant such an allegation of bigotry? For what it's worth, I lived in the Albany area when Miller did the pm drive show on WGY. (Not an Entercom station) He's the same host in Boston as he was there. (Though I'm sure you'll be able to come up with some derogatory comment about Albany, after all, it's not Boston)

And you're comment's about Dr. Phil still aren't funny, or appropriate.

How can anyone say that Howie sandbaged Deval it's the other way around. If anyone remembers when howie was at the Big-E Deval Patrick purposely didn't show up on howie's show. During the time slot that Deval was going to be on he went to eat a bake potato in the Maine building. So how can anyone say that Deval was sand bagged. I voted for this guy but I now have to look at him in another way. Was goes away from anyone he doesn't like. That's not how you become governor. There was a lot of chatter about this at the bige and on area radio stations. It seems that the western mass area is not happy with him and most of us are democrats.

Please translate into standard English:

Was goes away from anyone he doesn't like. That's not how you become governor. There was a lot of chatter about this at the bige and on area radio stations. It seems that the western mass area is not happy with him and most of us are democrats

What are you saying?
