Howie Carr Was On MSNBC Thursday Night

Proving that The Cap'n will go anywhere to hustle one of his tomes, Howie Carr was on Lawrence O'Donnell's "Last Word" Thursday night. ( I watched Keith Olbermann live...yes, I have Current TV after delicate negotiations with Comcast/Xfinity; later on Current had an interesting documentary on shit...they actually USED the word so MODERATOR don't delete it, because they were letting viewers know that in the NOT developing world, people take a dump anywhere they want. Our ancestors in crowded European cities must have done the same thing...and then viewed Lawrence's show on my DVR). There's been a recurrent theme during Max Robbins' appearances on Howie's show that MSNBC's viewership in general and even during prime time in particular was so minimal as to be not worth mentioning. I guess Howie has changed his mind because he had a lenghty and interesting colloquy with fellow Bostonian LO'D. I don't know if there's a way his publisher could sort it out, but wouldn't it be funny if sales of his books SPIKED as a result oh his MSNBC appearance?

msnbc sent a crew to howie's house. O'reilly was re-running pieces of the Tuesday interview with Howie at the same time, and bizarrely taking credit for Whitey's capture

He's sure to be outselling anything Mike "Jimmy kept the drugs out of Southie*/ There's a Yuk on
every page" Barnicle ever wrote! Howie dreams of someday working on Morrissey Blvd--no not at the Globe but at Greater Media. Or Clear Channel.

*--"They were making more money than the old gang from Winter Hill ever dreamed of--$5 million in protection money from one marijuana dealer alone"--Howie Carr, HITMAN p 28

Easy to see why HC's heart feels like an alligator. Good to meet him again (at book signing in
Peabody). I suppose the paperback issue of the book, due in early 2012, will have additional
stuff about Whitey and Catherine, aka "Mr and Mrs Santa Claus", being captured. Indeed as
the Herald's Jessica Heslam tweeted, someone said the $800,000 (and weapons cache) found
in Whitey's apartment "didn't come from him having a paper route on Santa Monica Blvd."...

I just started reading Hitman. I bought it used on Amazon for under 10 bucks because I didn't want to give Howie a nickle. I had to laugh after I read that he planned to thank a fellow author out who helped him by introducing him to his publisher with a gift certificate to Flemmings or the Chop House. What a sport. He is going to throw the guy a gift certificate that he gets for free on a trade deal with the station. What a cheep skate
