Speaking of VB .... iHeart is marketing Grace's show as:

"The Grace Curley Show is a caller driven discussion about the latest pop culture and political headlines"

Which sounds like VB's 12-3 show

I'm guessing that iHeart was paying VB but GC is on HC's payroll?

that's going to be a pretty long drive every day, doesn't he live in the Chelmsford area?

Strange concept to me I guess. As a listener I would always think a morning host has some type of 'connection' to the area of the station he or she is on. I would find it odd or difficult to warm up to someone who was a hundred miles away. Heck, why not have the host in California for that matter. Sure, I know w/ telecommuting, etc. its possible to sit "at home" and work. However, having someone report/discuss "local" topics when they're not 'local' wouldn't sit well with me.

The station has a nice signal, reception good: fallwinspring.

Maybe he will commute home only for the weekend.
I do think he should be in the capital for his show.

Didn't Listo Fisher live in NYC on weekends ?

Was thinking about this just today: couldn't VB's ol' buddy Howie pick up his noon-3 gig and put it on the Howie Carr Radio Network? VB would be off iHeart's payroll and might still have that noon-3 slot on 'RKO had this happened.

Congratulations to Iheart for mastering the art of driving listeners away, congratulations.

WRKO last nite....starting at 10pm there was supposed to be Gun Talk, instead there was dead air...after several minutes of dead air there was a barrage of ads, then all of a sudden, two guys named morgan and freddy are discussing the cartoon Popeye....I fell asleep after about 4 minutes....I woke up at 12:30am to the news which isn't unusual to hear at the bottom of the hour, however, we went from the news to the "traffic on the threes and the accuweather forecast" to more news, rinse repeat.....I shut it off and fell asleep.....woke up again around 3:15, rinse repeat.....it's bad enough Iheart has ruined Sunday morning (til9am) on talk1200,(two teenage girls discussioning tv programs) now they've ruined Saturday nites on RKO.

watch that drop like a stone over the next few months.

I'm sorry, but pandemic or no pandemic, there is NO EXCUSE for such lack of attention on iHeart's part. Granted, maybe this particular day part has no bearing on ratings or ability to attract advertisers, but - and I've brought this up before - how's that fancy-shmancy automation system that iHeart has in its master control that's supposed to keep all of their Boston properties running like a Swiss watch workin' out for them? iHeart does not get a pass on this.

First it was Talk 1200.
Next it spread to WRKO.
Just a matter of time ere WBZ heads south.

And only a few of us whose thoughts expressed here obviously don't matter actually give a krappe!!!

Remind me again how much you pay for this service?

Last week in the middle of the college football playoffs my cable went dead. I called the 1-800 number and they sent me online. They said covid had shut down their customer service. OK, so I go online. First I have to establish an account, with user name and password. Then they need to do a security check. Then I do an online chat with someone who obviously is not from North America. It took over an hour, and in the end, all they could tell me was that they knew about the outage in my area and it would be fixed in 12 hours. Thanks. And I pay a monthly fee for that. And there was no rebate for the service outage. Although I guess I could complain if I wanted to do the online chat thing again. Which I don't.

Agreed....no matter what is going on in the world, there is no damn excuse for incompetence. As I've stated here before, I remember the days when people who worked for radio stations ACTUALLY LISTENED to the radio station....these days, no one gives a damn, mistakes have to be made first, then reported, then they'll get fixed, that is, if someone actually gives a flying bleep. SMH. There is someone here on this forum who does work for Iheart, but, you have to email him, give him all the details of what happened, time, date, etc and he will fix it, IMO, the nonsense should not happen to begin with, SMH.

No matter what time of the day or nite it is, when I turn the radio on I expect to hear the program that is scheduled to be on, not some crap feed from another station that just goes on and on and on, dead air, wrong program, etc etc. and if I want to listen to constant news, traffic on the threes and accu weather, I'll turn the damn station to WBZ.

And you're right NRG...those of us who actually care, don't seem to matter, all we get is, change the station, or, some pathetic excuse for the incompetence.
