Howie Carr's father died at 103 in October

Noticed via Wikipedia that Howard Louis Carr Sr. died at the age of 103 on October 1 of this year.
I can't remember if Howie mentioned it on air, though he may have taken a trip shortly after this
to N.C. for the funeral (Columbus Day weekend):

Howie has mentioned his parents from time to time on air; his Dad was about 47 years older than Howie
(born in 1905 while Howie Jr. was born in '52). Quite a long time to be on this Earth. I think Howie worked
for his father at a hotel down in Florida, for a time...

(Howie has told on air of working down at the hotel in Fla. and once he spilled lobster all over Soupy Sales.
Sales was miffed but not as angry as one might think, IIRC)...Howie got to attend UNC as a "state resident"
even though he may not really have been (parents, etc, living down in Tarheel State). Anyway, belated
condolences to Howie.

Hopefully this will end for good the idiotic 'editing war' on Howie's Wikipedia entry regarding his legal middle name. Some self-appointed 'expert' keeps changing it back to "Lawrence" apparently trusting VB and Col. Hunt's mockery more than published fact.

Isn't it interesting that that callous boob, whose aged parents (or at least one of them) were still living until a month or so ago, would nevertheless make so many tasteless jokes about old people? Are there any limits to his self-centeredness? I wonder if the senior Mr Carr knew that his son was making a handsome living by ridiculing people of the senior Carr's generation. Of course, Howie might have inherited his execrable taste from his father. Unless someone is around who knew the senior Carr, we'll never know whether he was proud of, ashamed of, or ignorant of his son's horrendous taste in humor.

At least he hasn't referred to old folks as "Q-tips" lately though once in awhile Sandy will read a news item
about an older driver who "mistakes the gas pedal for the brake" (Howie guesses the age and then she says
'you're a tad low' or something). Then again if you've seen Howie lately he's starting to show his age. Pic
on howiecarr.com shows him with his Radio Hall of Fame award--is that Howie or Dick Cheney?* (and his
limp, as seen on the RHOF video, stems from the fact that he needs a hip operation btw)

Howie Sr. probably didn't care about what Howie Jr. was doing but who knows.

*--and Art Bell, posing with him, moved his right hand at the last minute and thus appears to have three hands)
