Howie Carr said at start of show today he's taking trip to Fla. tomorrow(Col. Hunt fills in, vet Dr John DeJung guest) in a biz trip (back Mon.) about "future of Howie Carr Show". He said he hopes to stay on affiliates; as for Bos. station he'd like to re-work terms.

Howie's fans do, across a regional network that has lasted for years.Entercom cared enough to make sure he stayed at least 7 years after attempting to jump to a talk station that's now gone, and they gave him equipment personally used by Marconi. Howie broadcasting from the Southern Command?.

at this point I wish he would just ride into the sunset.
He has been bitching about WRKO for years, I really hope they let him walk and lock the door in back of him.
Hard to do book signings and "nights of crime from the Sunshine State, but he has property in Palm Beach, all he needs is remote facilities, not that hard to do.
Is Cary Pahigian still representing him? He did such a great job on Howie's last deal ya know.
I wonder if "Submit" a.k.a "The Mail Room Manager" can handle the fridge magnets from the condo?
How about her real estate empire and sales/management career?

Looking at his demos and talk radio's continuing revenue fall, he's about squeezed out.
Complaining about the station may be his legit opinion - but it is also part of the schtick. Lot's of hosts on radio and TV have done that either regularly or on occasion (think Howard Stern ripping WNBC, Letterman and Carson ripping NBC). Howie's not the first and won't be the last to use this bit. Howard Stern hasn't been on WNBC almost 30 years; and the station has been gone since '87 and he still makes jokes about it and Imus. Same for Letterman with NBC.

Let's face it, Howie Carr has always been a second rate talk show host. He is a failure at interviewing anyone. He also just can't help being a nasty bastard. He ranted for years how he hated his parents and his brother. Caught him the other day when he had Christopher Knight on from the Brady Bunch and could help getting in the dig that Robert Reed who played his father was gay. WOW, Howie. Like everyone has known that for more than 20 years. Can't help that he is and always be a tabloid anal sphincter....Look that up in you Funk & Wagnal!
Another rant. Yeah, we get it....you don't like Howie Carr and most conservative hosts.

I sure hope Howie does not end up on one of those Internet ventures, a la` BHR, or something similar to what Ordway and co. are attempting.

Agreed, tho admittedly I need to use my smartphone to hear Howie at work due to interference. But yes, airwaves please.
Maybe Howie can do a Larry Justice or Mike Adams and take over the studio and make demands for a raise

of being lazy/won't get a job.
Howie is such a second rate talk show host that he has quite a few affiliates, he does fill ins (did KFI for awhile) and makes appearances on shows across the nation, has success with his books and column, and Entercom definitely wanted to keep him. This is why Howie is only on one 5,000 watt radio station that goes down to 3 watts at night, hardly anybody has heard of him, and he never gets people on messageboards all riled up. OK, just kidding...kinda.
