1. I understand his appeal on radio. The old white conservativies [sic] who feel that the world is against them and can't deal with change need someone to tell them they are right.
I guess you got it all figured out, huh? You must be an audience research specialist, no?
You forgot to add "conservatives who felt alienated by the "traditional" media...where they didn't find their views represented or welcome.
And there were a LOT of them..because Fox News knew they were out there and has been winning the Cable News race ever since.
2. Most of his 20 stations are also ran stations.
WGAN is an also-ran? WHYN is an also-ran? WVMT is an also ran? WXTK is an also ran?
3. Howie is a one trick pony ( yes he has written books all about the same basic topic, his last book that was nothing more than mug shots.
he is doing what he does best...writing and speaking about crime and politics. What do you expect him to do? Sing and juggle?
Better yet, when is Garrison Keillor going to stop doing that one-trick pony called "A Prairie Home Companion"? Boy if I hear another story of that Lake Wobegon....
4.The fact remains his is not a good public speaker and his live show is nothing more than a rehash of old of the same old stories he has been telling for years.
Yet people keep showing up (and paying) don't they?
He'll keep on rehashing the same old stories and collecting the admission fees. Good for him, he's found his niche and is getting every mile (and dollar) out of it he can.
That's what we in the business call....success. LOL!
You've already shown your hand, that you dislike Conservatives...so any opportunity to marginalize Howie will be seen through that lens. but Howie is today, one of Boston's most successful talk hosts.
