Howie & the seat belt law

always willing to give the devil his due.

The incessant ads on AM 1430 got me to switch to RKO - Carr did a good job
fighting the upcoming Seat Belt bill. He needs to do more of this activist
stuff. It was good radio, it had good audience participation, and it actually
resonates with the community.

He gets a gold star for the show tonight.

I agree 100%. In the 80's talk radio actually accomplished something. Jerry Willams took on the Democrats in the State House and was actually a balancing force against all the garbage that was going on. We really need that in this state because of the one party domination.

Howie knows state politics well and could do a really great job if he put some effort into it. Unfortunatly, I fear Howie cares more about the paycheck then the cause which leaves us with the pop culture mush that he foists on us.

Jerry got rid of the seatbelt law but it was reinstated overwhelmingly some years after that.

anyway, for once I agree with Howie about something

as for 1430 and the ads... do what I do if you have an MP3 player or listen to radio on your computer... Air American Place... shows without the ads...

At his best Howie tries to morph into Jerry Williams. Jerry must be spinning....

Agreed, and ditto for the In-State Tuition for Illegals bill, among others!

Still, No Jerry Williams

Still a pale shadow to Jerry Williams in his prime on these issues. Makes one realize how talented Jerry was... and missed.
