HowieCarr.com domain name owner: Entercom

Another interesting aspect of the Howie Carr/Entercom divorce is what becomes of his domain name
which, acc. to a WHOIS search, is registered to Entercom Communications of Bala Cynwyd, PA.
Can he reclaim it because it's really HIS name? Maybe he'll have to launch another domain name
when he gets to WTKK.

My bet is that if Entercom keeps the name, it will simply redirect to the WRKO homepage even
though he may be employed down on Morrissey Blvd. instead...

Howiecarr.com currently has an error message up there but you can still get to Howie's page thru
the WRKO site (which is where it was all along). HowieCarr.com is set to expire in 2012.
Meanwhile, HowieCarr.org is registered to a "Three Seas Management", address 116 Huntington
Ave. (FORMER WRKO building) and Howie is listed as administrator.

If you recall, he was involved in that cybersquatting case. So, he could probably take ownership. At the same time, I'm surprised he doesn't own it now. What was he thinking?

haha...Howie could take his family out to dinner--ONCE--at Applebee's and that would've paid for like THREE years of domain-name renewal fees. Chump change for the Chump Line. The world is full of 'If-I-Had-Only-Paid-That-Domain-Name-Fee!' stories.

That's OK, Howie. Let 'em have howiecarr.com. howardlawrencecarr.com might be available!

>>If you recall, he was involved in that cybersquatting case

yes a guy from Salem had registered it, etc.

yes, unless you overpay at certain sites, you can easily register something for $7-8 per yr.

Or you can use GoDaddy and get a thousand+ spam messages, and be subject to cancellation simply because they don't like your content.

Entercom's "ownership" of that domain would last 30 seconds in front of any judge.

Speaking of Entercom screwing with Howie, did anyone hear the show between 4:30 and today when Howie was discussing the nudity in VT thing?

Howie took "Happy" the board op to task for not being on the button with the infamous David Scondras drop in. Remember the one that was banned for a while but returned when the person who banned it got canned.

So "Sandy" opens her mic and tells Howie it is not "Happys" fault, the file was deleted from the computer.

Luckily it was archived somewhere else under a different file name where Sandy could get to it, but there was a couple of seconds of banter on the air wondering who was deleting the shows files.

Is this what the next 2 months are going to be like?
