Howie's big mistake....

I'm not a lawyer, but a friend is and he explained to me that Howie's big mistake was opening his big mouth! (Even the judge said that) If he had QUIETLY negotiated a contract with Greater Media-but not SIGNED it until his present one expired, WRKO would be up s**t's creek without a paddle. By signing the Greater Media contract BEFORE his WRKO one ran out-and then announcing to the world that he had, Howie opened the door for WRKO to match their offer-which apparently WRKO did.

Now they likely OWN his contract-and him-for another five years.

The Navy has a saying: "Loose lips sink ships!" In Howie's case it's starting to look like HIS loose lips sunk his chances for FM talk.

BUT...don't cry for Howie! 1.4 MILLION dollars a year buys a lot of Kleenex to mop uphis tears!

Don't you think Howie got advice from his lawyer? Is your 'friend' a better lawyer than Howie's?

Keep in mind that this is ONE judge's opinion on Wednesday. We have a very liberal SJC who typically side with employee rights.

His real mistake was getting himself into a position where his fate would be decided by Massachusetts judges . . . he's made an awful lot of enemies in that fraternity.
