Howie's "magic radio" plugs

L.Glavin noted on SaveWRKO that Howie is free to talk about Entercom's stock woes (without actually
mentioning "that certain company" that he ENJOYS seeing drop like a stone!) though his references to
XM/Sirius only get through when he refers to (XM) as "the magic radio". Obviously he would be bleeped
if he dared mention XM's name (which actually happened once) since I'm guessing Entercom doesn't
want a "competition" to be named. This is similar to what happened when WTKK was still running Hannity
and Opie and Anthony were due to be on to plug their sat-radio show. What a surprise, Greater Media
substituted a re-run from a diff. day, during that hour...

Howie also gets some jabs in about the station that almost got to hire him. Recently they had a contest
where callers during one hour had a chance to win tickets to a Red Sox playoff game and Howie would
pick the name/phone # from a hat. "Maybe I'll use that hat I got from a certain FM station," he said.
No doubt the hat says "96.9 FM Talk", "Boston's Talk Evolution", something like that! Howie made it
clear he was hassling the E-com management with such references! He also talked about how his
employer might consider giving him a $2.5 million bailout so he could walk away from Guest St. and
"walk down the street"... (to Morrissey Blvd no doubt! And I don't mean el Globo!)

As much as I generally like Howie, am I the only one who finds his veiled potshots at Entercom super-obnoxious? He lost the case a year ago.

You too can be a major league baseball player who goes to another team (and still being paid by the
first team) and complains about the first team treating him like dirt ($20 million a year) and how
miserable you were in your old city. Manny being Manny.

Complaining about Entercom? Howie being Howie :) (If they indeed matched the Greater Med. offer,
is he making those performance incentives for first in time slot, second...? Not holding my breath.
Still like HC's show though)
