How's the Morning Mess doing?

I haven't seen anything here in recent weeks about Star 94's Morning Mess. So, how has their show been doing lately?

Well they finally quit hitting the applause button every time they opened the mic so that's a plus. :-\

Wait?! That wasn't real clapping every time the mic opened!?!

Crazy stuff man...Next you are going to tell me radio people use fake names.

It's obvious that it took them a while to get comfortable. They were clearly under pressure from entering a new market; there were a lot of expectations and finger pointing initially. However, 10 months or so later, they seem to have direction and have their head in the game. They will only continue to grow as they stay in Atlanta. Honestly, I can see them being a real threat against Bert. It's only a matter of time before they become firmly grounded.

Sorry to break it to you 'raptus', but this isn't Marco......

The Morning Mess is ranked 18th in the target 18-34 audience. Imus, Mayhem and even the River did better. A year ago, Steve & Vikki ranked 10th 18-34.

Oddly, even though the Mess is gearing younger, it did better 25-54, ranked 12th, compared to 6th a year ago for Steve & Vikki.

Absolute train wreck. I was listening this morning and found more entertainment on the fish.

Seacrest soon in middays. Mack will have them out the door soon. Start looking Schrutt. Maybe Birmingham?

Wrong again, 'dyoung'. And Rodney--is that 18-34 and 25-54 persons, or 18-34W and 25-54W??

When I wrote 18-34 or 25-54, it's both genders. I don't currently have the gender breakdowns of W18-34 and W25-54, which are naturally going to be better. If anyone has 'em, post'em!

Overall, Star 94 is 10th 25-54 women and tied for 7th among women 18-49, far below their norm just a couple yeares ago.

Boy, that's gotta hurt when your target demo is 18-34 and you're getting beaten by the fossilized remains of Don Imus. :D

Look at the bright side, though, when all is said and done, the payroll at Star will be a total of $50,000 a year for all the air "talent"
they'll have left. That's all LF will have left until they get the Federal Government bailout. so they can cut more.

Someone should write a book on the ATL market on how to kill a viable radio station.

CONsultants, pencil pushers and suits are no better than Wall Street insiders. They've sucked the life out of radio.
I used to shake my head at people who were anti-corporation, etc. thinking they were just over reacting to things.
No more.

The song "Corporations beginning with a C killed the radio stars" should be written about now.

This industry has become a horrific example of greed and stupidity and ALL the good people who could have saved it have
been let go, demoted or broken down to the point of not caring. What a serious waste/
